Aspire and Artcam are both the same as both use their own proprietary file formats, both export and import stl format for file interchange with relief models. The catch is you need both programs to do in house or someone willing to export the file in a format you can import, such as stl.

Re: Help to Export Vectors from ArtCAM file
I have an ArtCAM file I'm wonder if someone would be willing to open and export the vectors from? I have a 2002 ArtCAM Insignia license - right now, I don't have an old computer here running Windows XP that I could attempt to install and use the software. Here is a download link to the file on my N...

Re: PDF Import Layer support
Adrian, Even though the architectural companies use Autocad and the likes for in house drawings, when they put them out for bid or send to the plan room for open bid they are in pdf format. A large amount of sub-contractors do not use cad/cam programs so cannot open dwg, dxf eps etc etc but everyone...

Re: PDF Import Layer support
Adrian, I go thru this on a daily basis dealing with Architects, their electronic bid plans are all put out in pdf format. Afraid you don't have the option to go to eps or dxf I open the plans in Acrobat and pull the pages I need but it is a lot of added work, maintaining layers for pdf is very much...

Re: Clean router Edges (Mirror Edge)
The tool Randal listed above is a pcd polishing tool for acrylic, which replaced the diamond polishers and falls under the hard and soft plastic category. For phenolic (composite category) the recommendation is the 66-700 Series which is a DFC upcut low helix finisher, available in 6 to 10 flute dep...

Re: Drag Knife Gadget - Exceeds Z
I would suspect you are getting a soft limit warning,
check your safe Z height setting (too high for your machine travel) that is most likely what is causing it if its a soft limit warning for the Z axis

Leo, you didn't offend me, I was what I thought correcting some statements and giving a short explanation and correction to our tooling. I enjoy reading your post as well, with your background you have a lot to offer on the forum. Like I said it was just a correction nothing offensive to me. I was a...

Re: Ballnose bit
not at all, but they are not the only ones out there. The cutters I mentioned are of the same caliber, but they are a MUCH larger manufacturer and manufacture in much larger quantities, hence a lower price tag. I am absolutely positive the SGS cutters would perform equally as well. A lot of that ab...

Re: Convert or import .NC ie MASTERCAM files
You need to click the number, 1.0000 in this case, type in the sizing eg 1.5000 and press enter.
depending on which screen set your using the led will flash yellow to show your size is not 1:1
you need to do the same to each axis you want to resize.
Works on all loaded files

Re: Carving Router Bits for Aspire
We ship around the world daily and to Australia every couple of days. Shipping is under $29 usd for up to 4lbs which is quite reasonable. Its the exchange rate and fees for the exchange tacked on by the credit card companies that jack it up. Then as I'm Australian and ship both ways, I know its more...
