Fluting a chair backrest
I am trying to make a chair backrest. My stock is 6" by about 16" and 1.3125" thick. I am trying to get a backrest that gently curves over the length of the piece, concave on one side and covex on the other side ending up with a curved 5/8 inch thick backrest. I can get the concave side using the fl...

Re: Support Pages and Frequently Asked Questions
Maybe my question was a dumb question or maybe no one has had the problem I described above. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VCP 5.5. Same problem. I always have to wait for : "VCarve Pro, Initialising PostScript import fonts for the first time. This may take between 30 seconds and 6 minu...

Re: Support Pages and Frequently Asked Questions
I have vcarve pro ver. 5.5 and I have just installed it on my new laptop. Every time I start the program I get the message "Initializing post script import fonts ..." and have to wait for the fonts to install. The installation on my other computer does not do this. Any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks

Re: Routed Jewelry Box
Looks like a toolpath lead in and out to me. Helps to prevent marks at the start and end of the cut.

Re: 1/16th bit length.
I just bought a couple more 1/16 inch end mill bits. They are from Think and Tinker , Precise Bits.com. They are .5" DOC, 2 flute, 0.0625" dia., 0.125 inch dia shank. I have had good results with them. You have to be reasonable on your depth of cut. They are a little over $10 each. Shipping is kind ...

Re: vectricon chroniker and vc pro trial edition
That was it Adrian I had an earlier version of the vectricon chroniker. But with the current version I can now modify the speeds and feeds. Thanks again!

Re: vectricon chroniker and vc pro trial edition
The version of VCP I am using is 7.514. I tried changing the values of feedrate and plunge rate from 120ipm to 100ipm and 60ipm to 30ipm. Once I did that and hit calculate I got the Sorry... message. I tried changing the values back to the original values and still no go. The I tried loading the ori...

vectricon chroniker and vc pro trial edition
I have downloaded the Vectricon Chroniker tutorial files and VCarve pro 7.5. I can save the toolpaths as they are in the tutorial but if I try to make changes to tool feed speed, I get a message saying SORRY - can't do that. In the verbiage of the tutorial it says you can change feed speeds and that...

Re: Toy cars
Dale, your models are wonderful. Thanks for sharing them. Is there any chance you could post the vectors in one of the following formats dxf, dwg, or eps. I have VCarve pro version 5.5 and can not open any of the files except in the trial version (which doesn't help).
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Deck on shopbot buddy 24-48 standard
I use nylon bolts, I think they are 1/4 - 20. I also have them countersunk. I have not hit one yet, but I don't think it would hurt the router bit if it did.

Very Cool! It looks to me like it is inspired by either a Viking warrior or a Klingon warrior from Star Trek! I like it.
