I hurt my brain.

I hurt my brain trying to figure this out... I need help. Trying to create a dishout in a block of wood to mate with a sphere. The diameter of the dishout needs to be 7 inches. The diameter of the sphere is 10.833 inches. The depth of the dish out (given the sphere diameter and dishout radius) calcu...

Re: Layers tab in the twilight zone.....

Google was not my friend in this instance. Before posting here I had searched and tried a number of suggestions on how to deal with an off screen window. It seems that those solutions only work on parent windows. The layers tab window is a child of the Aspire parent windows and it seems to be beyond...

Re: Layers tab in the twilight zone.....

Solved my own problem. I run with "Save Tab Layout" set to "yes". Fortunately I hadn't closed Aspire with the Layers tab lost off screen. I changed "Save Tab Layout" to "No" and when I closed / restarted Aspire the Layers tab was docked on the left bottom again and I could access it. I guess people ...

Layers tab in the twilight zone.....

I've been running aspire on an ultra wide hi res (3440 x 1440) monitor. I set windows scaling to 150% so I can more easily read the text in Aspire. I like to pull the Layers tab outside the aspire main window so it is always visible and easily accessible. With scaling set to anything other than 100%...

Re: 10 Install / Purchase Fail

Hi Steve - I'm talking about "Controlled Folder Access", which is part of Windows Defender Exploit Guard in Windows 10. If you have windows 10 and aren't aware of it, google "Controlled Folder Access" and consider whether it might be worth activating on your machine. It can sometimes require you to ...

Re: 10 Install / Purchase Fail

Hi Steve - Running as administrator won't solve a folder access restriction. You have to explicitly add the application to the access list. If you don't have controlled folder access activated in your Windows 10 security settings you won't have to worry about it. If you suddenly find you can't save ...

Re: Super confused v10 download

I got an email for a paid upgrade from Aspire 9.5 to Aspire 10. I also got an email for a free upgrade from VCarve 5.5 to VCarve Pro 10. The problem is that VCarve Pro 10 is only mentioned in the full email subject field. In my email program I only see the first part of the subject and I rarely look...

10 Install / Purchase Fail

Got a message that "Something went wrong" when I was returned from Paypal to the Vectric site. While this was troubling, it turns out that whatever went wrong didn't interfere with the purchase. I was ultimately able to determine that my credit card was charged and I was able to download the softwar...

New Shift Click 3D Axis Views

I really like the shift click feature for the 3D axis views in 9.509. In rotary jobs a shift click rotates 180 degrees on axis, but also flips end for end. Anybody know of a way to stop the flipping end for end when using the new shift click feature? The instant rotate is fantastic, the flip end for...

Michael - The 2D toolpath issue we saw last night was corrected in the latest patches. I was on 9.507 last night. I just updated to 9.509 (Thanks Charlotte!!) and the issue was resolved. Since you saw the same thing you probably need to update as well.

Re: Balky Rotary Calc

After some more playing around, it appears that it does recalculate. It just stops showing the toolpath in 2d view when I recalculate after having done a preview. Now I know that I have to manually turn on 2D toolpaths each time I recalculate once I've done a preview. Or I could use recalc all toolp...

Re: Balky Rotary Calc

I've attached a simple rotary project with a toolpath that will not calculate. Everything was fine until I previewed the toolpath. Once I previewed it I could no longer calculate it from within the toolpath. But if I use Recalc all toolpaths it calculates. Really weird. Anyone feel like giving it a ...

Balky Rotary Calc

I've had a couple rotary projects now where all of a sudden a toolpath will no longer calculate. I click on calculate and nothing happens. No error message, no toolpath generated. Nothing happens. But if I then click on "recalculate all toolpaths", the toolpath will calculate just fine. But it still...
