Re: Ok, I think I may be losing my mind...!?!

So what I would do, go into the tool setup... Set my speed, look at the chip load. Then I would go to Precisebits speed and feed calculator since I use their bits. I would enter the spindle speed, diameter, and chipload. Their calculations would give me the Feed speed. I would then enter it into the...

Re: Ok, I think I may be losing my mind...!?!

Adrian, thanks for responding...
I guess what I'm asking is....was the calculation always automated?
I don't remember the feed rate automatically changing before. So I was just trying to figure out if all this time I had been changing it when I didn't need to.......

Ok, I think I may be losing my mind...!?!

I am running the new version of aspire 11.503. Has the Feed rate changed? What I mean is... Before... I used have the tools setup, and based on my chipload and tool parameters I would obtain my feed rate. Now it seems the speed is automatically calculating the feed rate ... can I now assume it is co...

Re: Version 11.5 is OUT NOW!

So used to grabbing the patches, and also, it is the only thing that mentions 11.5.
Some of us need to be reminded to the grab the "installer file" underneath our licenses. Then we can grab the patch!

thanks for understanding!

Re: Version 11.5 is OUT NOW!

i'm having the same concern. I am currently running 11.016, I have installed all the patches as they have come along. When I down load and run the 11.5, I get this message Picture1.png When I go to my portal, my only option is to download the 11.5 I'm not sure why that message says it cannot find it...

Re: Laser Cutout with Aspire (current) & Laser Module

Are you using a baltic birch plywood? I use a 7 watt JTECH laser. It will eventually burn through, but it isn’t all that easy. I’ve burned pockets through 0.1” plywood. It usually takes 8 passes at a slow pace. Lots of smoke. Yes, using baltic birch. I did 100 passes with 100% power at a rate of .2...

What laser would that be?

I don't see a way on vectric laser module to set z step depth... Or is this something I have to do manually?

Laser Cutout with Aspire (current) & Laser Module

I am seeking to cutout a laser cut file on 1/8" baltic birch using the laser. I can engrave without any difficulty. What I can't seem to do is cut through the 1/8" wood. I am using the g2 lens and I have tried various power, speed, and number of passes, and the most I can get is 1/4 through the wood...

laser module, tool database materials

I just recently installed my new laser and have added the Vectric laser module to my aspire software. When, however, I am going through the tutorials, their tutorials reveal different materials within the tool data base. When I click on materials, in the laser tool path, all I see is Hardwood, softw...

Rather large wall art piece.

Ok, i'm using aspire, current version... I am working on a large piece of wall art. I want, however, to take a small piece of that and carve it first... to see if it's going to do what I want. Is there an easy way to just take a portion and have it carve? Like i would like to print 1/16 of the actua...

Re: Newbie seeking advice

I just learned today about resolution.. I can't remember any of the tutorials talking about that, or else, my brain didn't understand it.

I will look into all the changes and modifications everyone suggested and will see what happens.

Thanks everyone, i'll let you know how it goes!

Re: Newbie seeking advice

I know that the Aspire calculated carve time isn't accurate...
But by it's calculations with the roughing toolpath added it says this is an 82 hour cut. Does that sound right?

Re: Newbie seeking advice

I guess I should say that I have not carved this one yet. I wanted to make sure it is correct before attempting to carve. I just finished a very long cut on stacked text and it came out horrible. So because I'm feeling rather deflated over an unsuccessful project, I wanted someone to take a look. An...

Newbie seeking advice

I have a 30x30 Longmill CNC and am using Aspire 10.5 (since March 2021). If I keep it simple, and one bit -- usually things turn out just peachy. When I attempt a relief or using multiple bits... things get dicey! I do utilize the Sienci touch plate. Can someone take a look at this file. https://dri...
