I have found tracing a pdf image after it’s been imported very difficult. I must be doing it wrong since I have read here and other places this is the best way to do it. Is there a “special” technique for tracing?

Is this what you are trying to do? If so I could help you out.

Also cut the VCarve pass first before the clearing pass. That way there is more support for the small “peaks” of the letters during the cut.

I have had the same problem with the Whitehead 6220 bit. It works fine for flattening the MDF spoilboard but when I try to use it to flatten slabs, regardless of the RPM , feed rate or depth of cut, it burns the wood and makes a very rough cut.
