As you can see with this drawing...A start depth of .1 drops the red male piece in by .1 And then the .2 flat depth is above the top surface of the white female piece... So your only getting a .1 of contact on the angle edges.. And cutting a female pocket of .3 leaves a gap of .2 inches..so your was...

I did those numbers of yours and the male piece only dropped into the female piece by .1 Those numbers of yours work but there is only .1 inch of area that the male and female touch each other on the angled edge leaving a .2 open pocket between the 2 pieces When I did my numbers..it definitely went ...

N60M03 N70G94 N80X0.0000Y0.0000F40.0 N90G00X-1.6875Y3.7940Z0.0394 On line N90..the z is suppose to rise UP to .0394..I think you have the Z motor going DOWN on this N100G01Z-0.0300F10.0 then on N100 the Z is going up..causing it to cut air..you are probable stalling the motor on line N90 with a feed...

Hi Tony..sorry for such a delay in responding..vacation time for me ,just got back.. To be honest,I do not know what I need in regards to G code or how to run a plasma machine..I have been reading as much as I can on cnczone on this subject..I can draw the parts in autocad and import them to vcarve ...

Hi Tony..thanks for the reply..I use the profile toolpath alot for the type of cnc work that I do..drawing model airplanes in autocad and then cutting out the parts using profile toolpath to cut them all out..I am building another table for plasma cutting and I just thought that this profile feature...

I just thought that with the profile toolpath that you are 90 percent of the way there towards completion of a g code to run..maybe this might be something to add to the next version of v carve to make it even more versatile of a program..I have the trial of other software already loaded..looking it...

Could this be done using the profile toolpath?? I know that using a plasma cutter is a bit more complex in regards to torch height,good arc and the like..I use mach 3 and it has the tools to run a plasma,but the g code to turn the torch on and off..that is were i stumble..the height of the torch wou...

Just use a smaller diameter bit or just trick the program and tell it that it is a .247 diameter bit..just input .247 for the size of the bit under the specs of the bit.. After looking at the crv,I see that you did that already..also with the bit being sized at the .240 that you put in you will get ...

All right then..Thank you Brian..I have been using the profile tool path to cut out parts for model airplanes and doll houses and the .010 that I have set for the line width would not effect this type of cutting much if it did see the 010 width..I was concern if it did see it for more precise cuttin...
