Re: Laser Picture
Thank you Chris. I appreciate the email replies. I'm hoping we can continue to work together to get the situation resolved. Your patience and kindness are appreciated. I'd like make a suggestion re: the page in which the laser module is purchased and downloaded. Perhaps for the time being, Next Wave...

Re: Profile not cutting deep enough
I've checked all of my settings and parameters. Everything looks right but I found it is doing exactly 1/2 of what I'm setting in vectric. ie. If I want to cut a 3/4" profile, I habe to set it at 1.5". If I set it to .75" it only cuts 3/8". Something is wrong somewhere but I can't find it. I was thi...

Re: Laser Picture
GKAS I've gotten the laser to work with Ready to Raster, Nextwaave suggested I use a small desk top fan to help dissipate smoke from under the cup. Seems to work much better. Still cannot get it to work with Vcarve Desktop 10.5 properly and was informed that this software is not designed to work wit...

Profile not cutting deep enough
I am currently running a Shark HD5. I am trying to cut a profile toolpath with tabs. My material is 3/4" and I have 3/4" piece as a relief underneath it. I have triple checked that my spindle is not "bottoming out" my toolpath is set to .75" depth, however it is only cutting just short of 1/2". I've...

Re: Laser Picture
So, an update to not being able to burn an image using the photo-laser module I purchased. After numerous attempts (almost 100 hours on the laser) I reached out to Next Wave to see if maybe there was something wrong with my 2w laser. After several exchanges of emails, I received this from Next Wave....

Re: Laser Picture
Ok, that's what I thought. I have everything in a power strip. Thought maybe I had missed something else. I have played and played with all of these settings and am still just getting charred silhouettes. I'm wondering if its possible to use a different post processor other than Next Waves for this....

Re: Laser Picture
You mean a different POWER supply? What about a power strip, can they all be plugged into one together?

Re: Laser Picture
Hi Mike! I am using an HD5 with a 2 w laser and am running into similar issues using the new laser module. The first image I burned was completely black so I increased the feed speed some, scaled laser power back to 75% and got nothing at all. Burning standard vectors, the laser appears to be operat...

Re: Using Laser Module with Nextwave 2w Laser
Thanks Michael, you may be right. I'll reach out to them to see if they have some advice. I noticed in the laser tutorial they had settings for the laser and material types but I don't have any. I'm wondering if these are something I need to create or if there are defaults that I should import from ...

Using Laser Module with Nextwave 2w Laser
I recently downloaded the laser module which im using with a Nextwave 2w laser. While trying to burn images of my mother in laws dogs, I cannot seem to find the right combination of settings. It either burns to a full black silhouette of the dog, doesn't burn anything at all, or is very patchy to wh...
