Re: Selected Objects Size(could not enter a value)

Presumably you mean this video -

As Steven says those values are display only, They just tell you the size of what is selected. Set the circle to the size you want it before doing the array copy.

Re: Box Creator- more parts than will fit on a sheet

Depends what options you're using. If it's the dovetail joint then you would need to run the gadget with enough parts checked to fit onto the board and then run it again to get the other parts on another board. That's because you can't recalculate the dovetail toolpath. With the finger joint (square...

Re: MOULDINGS

Cut2D doesn't support the moulding toolpath or 3D toolpaths so you would need VCarve to be able to cut mouldings with either method.

There is a comparison table between the various products at the bottom of this page - https://www.vectric.com/products

Re: Machine cut deeper

Welcome. It's almost certainly nothing to do with the Vectric side of things. These sorts of problems are posted all the time and they always turn out to be issues with the machine or controller software. Home positions, clearances etc are all set in the Material Setup at the top of the toolpath tab...

Re: Profile Toolpath Delimma

If it's cutting past the amount set and then isn't retracting enough it sounds like you're losing steps on the Z axis. Check for binding, loose couplings etc. Everything in the file looks ok to me. Only thing I would do differently is have a ramp on the profile cut rather than straight plunges but t...

Re: Letter cut outs with sharp corners

Don't forget you'll have the round cutout to deal with as it's an interior cut so a roundover coming to a point would look a bit odd. You could "lie" to the software and tell it the bit is a v-bit I guess and use the Sharp Internal Corners option. It would take a bit of experimenting to get the pass...

It's best to attach the file if there are no copyright issues.

Re: Letter cut outs with sharp corners

If you want to do it on the CNC then what you need is what's called a point roundover bit which you can use with the profile toolpath.

Re: Cutting issues lines left in material

Yep, large stepover with a flat depth is most likely. Didn't think of that as I never use flat depth with v-carve toolpaths and stepover isn't used in that case.

Re: Help needed

You can use the fluting toolpath or moulding toolpath to create curved (in the Z) toolpaths.

If you have a 3D model created in other software you can import that and use the Project onto 3D option in the profile toolpath to get the tool to follow the curve of the underlying model.

Re: Cutting issues lines left in material

Looks to me as though the v-bit you're using doesn't match what you've told the software it is. Either the angle, sharp/flat tip or both.

Re: Problem with Save-as on Mac/Parallels/VcarveDesk

Looking through previous posts on issues similar to this it might be worth checking that any anti-virus programs are not blocking a program called SandBoxedFileDialog that is used as part of the Save As process.

Re: Router not rising high enough between cuts

On the toolpaths tab click the Set... button at the top to open the Material Setup dialog. The Clearance (Z1) gap controls the movement between cuts with the Plunge (Z2) being the height the machine will rapid move to if enabled in the post processor. The Z Gap above Material is where the Z will mov...

Re: Problem with Save-as on Mac/Parallels/VcarveDesk

Never had the problem myself but I would be checking 3rd party anti-virus and backup programs to see if they're holding on to file handles etc.

Re: SHOE HORN

The full CNC cut file is two sided with toolpaths but for some reason they've done that one file as an Aspire (CRV3D) file rather than VCarve (CRV) as all the other files in the project are which is probably why you haven't seen it. Not sure why they did it like that as it should work as a VCarve jo...
