Re: Release Notes for 12.005

Sounds like you have "Always open local documentation" set to "Yes" within General Settings of Options on the Edit menu.

That will look locally for the release notes as well as for the Help documentation.

The draw curves tool has been removed. The freehand drawing tool is not a substitute for it. It does not work the same…
I know but the person I was replying to was getting them confused. I never said the freehand tool was the replacement for it or that the draw curves tool hadn't been removed.

Re: V12 3D View - Model displays as transparent

There aren't any components in that list though so there's nothing to display. You should have components listed under Level 1.

Are you on the correct sheet for the model?

Re: V12 3D View - Model displays as transparent

Hi Adrian, thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, it seems the problem lies elsewhere. I've attached another screen grab with modeling plane, block visibility & all layers on. Still the "maple" model itself does not display. Go to the Component tab and makes sure the levels and components are s...

Re: Open two projects at the same time

You can open two (or more instances) of VCarve if you want to and have them on different monitors. It works the same as any other windows program.

Re: Support for graphic drivers!

I noticed what may be bug that might be bitting you. If you do the simulation with the animation turned on and are less than 100% animation speed, it uses 100% of all CPU cores on my system (Windows 11 Pro on a AMD Ryzen 8700g). Turn off the animation and the simulation completes almost instantly. ...

Re: V12 Array Preview Broken

It's definitely an issue as it's easily repeatable. Pressing the Calculate button twice should really give an error as you're then trying to create an array of an array which isn't possible but it shouldn't be removing the preview the way it is.

Re: V12 Draw Curves Tool

I too have sent an email to support asking this, recently introduced feature, be returned. And, I highly suggest others do this, as well as post here in the forums. As I said in your other post I think you're mixing up tools. The Draw Curve tool has been in the software for years. The freehand draw...

Re: curve tool

"it is integrated in the Draw Line/Polyline tool" I beg to disagree, it is not integrated into that tool. The Polyline tool has been around for a very long time. The Draw Curves tool was recently introduced. And it was introduced for a reason because it behaves completely differently than any other...

Re: Support for graphic drivers!

GPU usage came in with V11.

Check that you are running in hardware mode by looking on the About menu and seeing if your hardware is there next to Graphics.

If it's not then you need to go into Options on the Edit menu and change User Software Renderer in 3D View Settings from Yes to No.

Didn't realize you were looking at the trial version. Here is what is loaded in the purchased V12 for the ATC version. I would have thought the trial would have been the same.
They are the same. See my post above yours. The post processors which are used aren't stored where LessPaul is looking.

Re: Aspire 12 has older Mach2/3 post-processor?

The Post Processors aren't stored in that location unless they are custom or older ones and haven't been for a couple of versions now, The software moved from text based for everything to a database format for the standard ones. To see the standard up to date post processors go to the Machine menu a...

Re: Aspire V12 plunges photo Component Blacks, ruins carving

I created a component from that bitmap in 11.5 and 12 and they were identical.

I would suggest that you have something different with your material settings/toolpath settings than you normally do. It's good practise to double check everything when upgrading to a new version.

It's coming later. It's a big change to get everything in the 3D and it couldn't all be done in time.
