Re: Problems V11

Never heard of an STL file with layers but after a bit of reading they do exist apparently.

Still seems odd that it would have those names to me but if it worked for you before then you're probably best to report it to Vectric.

Re: Node Edit imported DXF file in VCarve Pro 9.5

That appears to be cutting correctly for a v-carve toolpath as far as I can see. A v-carve toolpath will cut the whole are of an enclosed vector. If you want to just cut on the lines then you should use a profile toolpath or create another set of vectors to limit the extent that the v-carve will go....

Re: Problems V11

STL files don't contain layer information or vectors.

Are you sure you weren't loading an Aspire file with all that setup in it already rather than just an STL file?

Re: 3D Segmenting

I've never had a problem with the old way of orientation. I don't care if you add more features, but don't take away features that work. Don't force people to use 3-party software that use to work in Aspire before the change or force importing the model multiple times. Gary Did you see Mohameds rep...

In Sophos i have excluded the entire directory...
This is what the other guy said he did to get it working.
i uninstalled it , reinstalled it went to Sophos add on Apps and included it and now it works.
Usually i've found sophos giving a warning on install, but this time nothing,

Re: VCarve Desktop & Pro Version 11 are OUT NOW

Same problem as diaz2266. VCarve won't start if Sophos Home Premium is active. When i stop Sophos, VCarve will run... I don't want to stop my virusscanner... Can't you add VCarve as an allowable program? I don't use Sophos but I've never come across a virus scanner program that doesn't let you do t...

Re: Node Edit imported DXF file in VCarve Pro 9.5

Generally if you have a cut in an area that you're not expecting that shows a problem with the vector such as a small loop or duplicated node.

Along with tool templates, I have found that using Vector selector and associating toolpaths to layers is very useful.
That's by far the best way to do it and the way I've done it for years. Recalculate the toolpaths and they apply to whichever sheet you have active.

Re: V11 Copy toolpaths to another sheet

You can export and import toolpaths as templates. When you import you will be given the option to apply to all sheets.

Re: Can't save parameters between jobs

Which toolpath are you using? What do you mean by "return to home"? There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to open an existing file, change some text, recalculate the toolpath and output with no other changes. I've done it multiple times a day with no issues with every version since 2006 so the...

Re: vector validator

Something is amiss with the "m", it checks out OK in Vector Validator, but if you try and VCarve just the "m" you get an error. I went into node editing for the "m", made a cut at the starting node then used the Join Tool to rejoin the now open vector. Now the "m" will carve correctly. It's an odd ...

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

Try increasing the stepover. An 8% value is ok for a 1/4" and 1/8" ballnose but when you go down to 1/32", especially with a 6% setting, the stepover is a tiny amount which is probably making zero difference to the quality of the cut. You might even find that the second tool is doing nothing unless ...

Re: Tool Database

My first toolpath is a profile cut using a Vcarve installed tool - no problem. My second toolpath is a chamfering toolpath using a form tool that I've created. I can't see the tools I've created when I try to select the tool I need for the 2nd cut. Same reason as the v-carve toolpath. A chamfer too...

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

You need to upload those pictures at a higher resolution. They're too small to be readable. You could also remove any copyrighted models from the job and attach the actual CRV file. I can see the shape of the tool though and it looks like you're using an engraving bit rather than a ball nose. Is tha...

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

15" x 12" model with Maximum resolution, 1/4" ballnose at 8% stepover, 1/8" ballnose at 8%, offset strategy on both tools and Rest Machining detail at 0.0043 (what it defaulted to) and it took just over 2 minutes to calculate. I also tried with machining detail at 0.0004 and that took nearly 4 minut...
