Re: V12 Draw Curves Tool

Doesn't bother me personally so I won't be. I can see the reasons behind tidying up the drawing tools and I never used the curve tool anyway. I much prefer to do curves in node editing or, if I'm doing something more artistic, the freehand tool. Wouldn't bother me if it made a comeback but I think f...

Re: VPro 12 sending to gSender to cut problem

I was assuming it works in the same way as the software in my Shopbot in that it makes the material size the extent of the toolpaths so, in this case, if it's a metric/imperial mismatch then the job would 5.5" x 5.5" with 0.4" cut depth.

Make sure that the post processor you're using is the same units (mm or inch) that your controller setup is expecting.

Re: V12 3D View - Model displays as transparent

I think you have the layer that the model is set to hidden. Look at the layers dropdown at the top of your screenshot. The current layer( BUTTON C-BORE.68...) is displayed in red which means anything on it is hidden/invisible.

Click the toggle button next to the layer name to turn it back on.

Re: Finish Machining always opens with 1/8" Ballnose

I can confirm I'm seeing that as well so it's not an issue with Parallels like some others as I'm running native Windows 10.

Re: V12 3D View - Model displays as transparent

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples with the database. There's been another thread where someone said they were missing tool settings but they didn't have the same material/machine combination selected on both versions. Also check the database name in the centre box at the top of the databa...

Wow. Totally missed that. Had no idea the tool database content is linked to a machine. I guess it makes sense.

Now will have to look up how to link tools from one machine to another machine.

Thanks for the quick solution.
That was the first thing I told you but you said it was the same.

Re: Auto Log Out at SUPPORT menu

The training videos are on the main site which doesn't require a login. If you login to the portal site and then go to the training video link it will direct you back to the main site. All the support links are on www.vectric.com rather than portal.vectric.com It may say login at the top of the scre...

Re: Post Processor inches or mm

It depends on what you machine is expecting. Some of the GRBL based ones will only work with metric, some will do both. As far as the Vectric side of things goes it doesn't matter. You can mix and match units all you like. I have imperial tools and metric tools on the same job. I have metric tools w...

V12 takes account of DPI scaling in Windows so depending on your settings you may see some differences in sizes.

Re: Off line computers

You have the option to download the license as a file from the same place as you download the installer. Copy both to a usb drive and then when you install on the offline computer you can use the option to license from a file.

Re: Help with Roundover bit following edge of a chair seat

Will V-carve Pro allow you to save a toolpath preview as a model (like you can in Aspire)? I’ve never heard of that. Very interesting. It can't be done in VCarve. It's an Aspire only feature which is incredibly useful. I use it all the time for making models for 3D printing from 2D toolpaths.

Make sure that you have the same material AND machine selected at the top of the tool database in both programs.
