Re: Default Clipart Directory

You can move the clipart anywhere you want after installation. If you want to change the default install folder then the only way to do that is to either use symbolic links at the Windows level or, what I've done, move the default location of Public Documents (and optionally others) to another drive...

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

As long as your jig holds the areas you're cutting flat then the fact that the rest of the shape is 3D at an angle doesn't matter. Same thing for the overall depth of the piece. You're only cutting a couple of mm into it so set the z-zero to the top of the material in VCarve and away you go. The too...

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

Watch these tutorials - https://www.vectric.com/support/tutorials/vcarve-desktop?category=2d-toolpaths They cover the basic 2D toolpaths including the profile ones. I can't emphasis enough how important it is to spend time with the tutorials and don't move on until you understand the concepts. You'r...

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

It's just a simple profile cut. Draw the circle and use the profile toolpath. I would use a small end mill for that rather than an engraving bit as well unless you need the cut to have an angled side.

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

It's behaving correctly. If you just want to scribe the circle then you need to use a profile toolpath not a v-carve one. A v-carve toolpath will produce a cut with sloped sides as deep as it needs to reach a point which is exactly what you're seeing. The file is so huge because of the number of too...

How do I insert a .crv file please?
Same way you attached the photos on your first post. Choose the CRV file and attach it in the same way. It should be well under the upload limit with such a simple file.

Re: Tool path problem

It will toolpath ok if you set the it machine On the vector but otherwise it won't as that outside vector is not a closed vector. If you close it then it toolpaths fine with outside or inside settings.

Re: toolbar moving

Have you got it docked to the main window? It may have detached. Try clicking and holding the mouse button down on the top of the tab where it says Drawing etc. You can then drag it around. When it gets near to the left or right side it should snap back into place.

Re: toolbar moving

When the tab is open click the pin (auto hide) at the top right to pin the tab open. That should fix it if I understand the issue correctly.

Re: Help setting up 2 monitors

You have to set the monitors up in Windows settings so that the Windows desktop is stretched across both of them and maximise Aspire, then press the PgUp key to tile the 2D/3D windows vertically (or select that option from the View menu). You can't undock the 2D/3D windows outside of the main Aspire...

V11 getting patches in the first week out?????????????????????
I would be absolutely gobsmacked if it didn't. The reality of testing is that it's impossible without huge amounts of time and labour to test every possible combination of what the software can do.

Re: Node Edit imported DXF file in VCarve Pro 9.5

A v-carve toolpath will cut the gap between two vectors if they are present. That's why I made the suggestion about trying the circles as that would show you what I was talking about. If you auto trace a bitmap then that creates two sets of slightly apart vectors that are ideal for v-carving in a lo...

Re: Problems V11

Never heard of an STL file with layers but after a bit of reading they do exist apparently.

Still seems odd that it would have those names to me but if it worked for you before then you're probably best to report it to Vectric.
