Re: Help Me Justify Upgrading to V11

People ask these sort of questions all the time but really the only person who can answer is the person asking the question. Watch the What's New videos and see if anything leaps out to you. For what it's worth if you're not interested in 3D or the multiple sheets I wouldn't think it's worth the upg...

Nothing happens. No error messages, nothing. ?? i have uninstalled it, rebooted and reinstalled it. The VTransfer seems to open up and the Browse VCarve link is ok but not the program What version of Windows are you running? Do you have an antivirus running that might have blocked part of the insta...

Re: How to assign color inside the toolpath

You have to create a dummy pocket toolpath to remove the material inside the circle and set the colour on that toolpath.

Re: Compairing "add dimensions" to object size

Also it's important to select the correct dimension setting which relates to what Steven is saying as well. Take a 50mm square for example. It will measure as 50mm in every tool and setting. However rotate it 1 degree and it will now measure 50.865mm when selected or in the resize tool as the select...

Re: Compairing "add dimensions" to object size

I use that tool a lot and I've never noticed it showing dimensions differently to how any of the other tools show them as far as 2D goes.

I'd be interested in seeing a file showing the behaviour to get to the bottom of it.

Re: Missing Toolpath List in Preview

Do you mean the toolpath operations? That's a toggle in Options on the edit menu. If you mean the actual list of toolpaths than that's there for me. Have you setup multiple sheets? By default you will only see the toolpaths for the active sheet so you may need to switch to the All Sheets view or the...

Re: Compairing "add dimensions" to object size

What do you have the number of decimal places set to in the dimension tool?

Re: Layers shortcut key.

There's a range of new delete options that have been added to the right click context menu for the Layers tab and Layers dropdown in version 11. I find them incredibly useful. You can now delete the selected layer (as before), all visible layers, all invisible layers or all empty layers. The last on...

Cut2D installs by running the file you downloaded. The Laser module is installed by entering your license details for it during the install process for Cut2D.

Re: Table Top Circular Chamfer

It's not a toolpath I really use so I don't know the logic behind it but I know from previous posts on the subject that you need to reduce the pass depth on the tool (you can use the Edit button on the Tool selection in the toolpath) to a lower value. The lower you go the smoother it is.

Re: Aspire V11 is OUT NOW!

Question: can I move all the clipart from the v10.5 directory to the new directory for v 11? Clipart is installed in a central location that is available to all Vectric software on your computer. It's not installed in a version specific location. The default install location is: "C:\Users\Public\Do...

Re: Aspire V11 is OUT NOW!

You don't have to download clipart until you want to use it if you have an internet connection where you're running the software. Click the cloud icon on the Clipart tab and you can see all the available clipart then and you can download any you like the look of from there. Clipart that hasn't been ...

Re: laser rotary engraving

With the new laser module in Aspire, as cool as this feature is, is there any way to apply an image, most likely a dxf file, but perhaps a photo, onto a curved surface and then engrave it with the laser module? You can do that provided you have a model of the surface you want to etch onto. You use ...

If you want a vector included that indicates the size of the material then you have to draw that vector yourself with all the export options other than PDF which gives you a job bounds option.

Re: Layers shortcut key.

I use layers a lot as well. I used to have the layers tab detached and floating but, now I've gone from a three monitor setup to a single ultrawide monitor, I've settled on having it docked with the Toolpath tab. That way I can have the Drawing and Layers tab (the two I use 99%) of the time open at ...
