Re: Color 7m photo to wood, suggestions

All depends on the look you're going for, the quality of the original artwork and the material. Basically it's artistic choices. You could create a relief model, a photovcarve of it, a v-carve of it or a simple profile etch. As I say all depends on what your desired look is. You should only be creat...

File menu, Export, PDF. Then print from whichever PDF reader you use making sure to select the print options that gives a 100% print.

Re: Question ref Material Setup Page

If you're using Chrome when the print dialog appears click More Settings and check the Background Graphics box. In Firefox choose Print from the three bar menu (not Ctrl-P), click Page Setup and then check Print Background. As far as I'm aware you can't print background images at all in the current ...

Re: raised panel doors

Fastest way is to use a shaped bit. This tutorial covers that:- https://www.vectric.com/support/tutorials/aspire?playlist=TutorialCategories&category=2DToolpaths&video=Raised_Panel_Door_2D_Toolpaths Next would be to use a moulding toolpath :- https://www.vectric.com/support/tutorials/aspire?playlist...

Re: "W" AXIS POST PROCESSOR

You need to change the prefix character in the variable definitions for the Z axis in your post processor. Best to create a new one and change the POST_NAME to reflect it as being a W axis one. Where you have lines like these: VAR Z_POSITION = [Z|C|Z|1.4] VAR Z_HOME_POSITION = [ZH|A|Z|1.4] You need ...

Re: 2 d to 3d model

No, you need Aspire for that if you're doing it with just Vectric software. VCarve can cut 3D models but not create them from 2D. What is it you actually want to create? With the advent of 3D printing I find a lot of people talk about 3D when they actually mean 2D with varying cut depths which is a ...

Don't know about the software you're using but most can load files with any extension. It's the contents of the file that matters not the extension.

Yes but you shouldn't need to. I double checked the version that I linked to in my first reply and it is the correct version. Might be worth re-downloading and re-installing it.

Re: Hoping the Vectric Folks are well

It's pretty much the same over here. Schools, pubs etc are closed and all events are cancelled. Statistically wise we're two weeks behind Italy so there's worse to come for sure. I'm fortunate in that I have very little in the way of outgoings but it's hard for a lot of people who have been sent hom...

Re: Dado Tool Creator

Is this the error you're seeing? error.jpg If so that's definitely a wrong version issue. The handling of the tool database picker changed from v9 to v10 so the only difference between the two is line 173. In the v9 version it's: dialog:AddToolPicker("ToolChooseButton", "ToolNameLabel", g_default_to...

Re: Problems with Vector Selection Order toolpath

The vector selection order is used to cut the vectors in the order selected which it does if you consider the outside and inside vectors as logically being one part. If VCarve didn't automatically create the correct code for the inside vectors then people would need to create two toolpaths for every...

Re: Dado Tool Creator

Are you using the latest version? I would expect that error if you were using a version made before v10 with a v10 version of Aspire/VCarve/Cut2D.

The latest version is here - http://gadgets.vectric.com/V10/dado_creator.html
