Re: Male Inlay with Dragknife
Thanks for the reply! My problem is the drag knife puts it right on the line with almost zero “tool” width so getting very sharp corners and a much larger inlay, when I use the inlay tool it gets to the right shape but can’t use the drag knife tool from there so not sure how to get the path the same...

Male Inlay with Dragknife
I need to do a male inlay with a Drag knife gadget. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this? Need the offset of the tool used for the female inlay which was a 1/4 end mill.

Re: Pocket wrong size
Just wanted to update everyone who took the time out of their day to help me. First of all. Thank you. Second. The problem in fact ended up being my calibration in Mach3 on my X Axis. After a brief calibration. The pocket is now machining correctly. So, thank you again. Hope this thread helps someon...

Re: Pocket wrong size
My gcode is being generated by vectric. Has nothing to do with my machine. If the G code is showing 14" then the problem is somewhere on the vectric side.

Re: Pocket wrong size
I did. The bit size is correct. I have not checked the machine calibration as nothing has changed recently. Is this normal for pockets to go outside the toolpath?

Pocket wrong size
I'm a bit stumped and need some help. My pocket size should be 13.5", but the final measurement on the CNC is measuring 14". It was my understanding the pocket stays on the inside of the Toolpath? I am using a 1/4 end mill so the .5" is suspicious to me. See attached working file.

Re: Cuts are too deep
I should say the problem corrected it's self once I switch the bit to a vbit.

Re: Cuts are too deep
I zero the z axis using the old paper trick. Using mach 3 controller. The person who tuned our machine said if I sent the job through in MM the machine is not going interpret things correctly as it's tuned to inches.

Re: Cuts are too deep
If you look at the screenshots everything is in MM. My machine can only accept stuff in inches.

Re: Cuts are too deep
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys.
It turns out my machine was tuned for Inches and I was programming using MM.
