Zoom, how to control amount per mouse wheel notch ?

I cannot seem to find a way to do course and fine zoom amounts, i would like to be able to see my project at real size on my screen or at least close to it but when zooming in and out it is very often too big or too small with just one mouse wheel click difference, i tried changing the setting in wi...

Re: Best V bit for Inlays

Hi Stan, WAS encountering somewhat similar problems, but to a lesser extant, as I went opposite of Adrian, and used half round 60 degree (.005"flat)Engraving bit from Onsrud(#37-01) as there is no spiral to grab wood, and because of tiny flat the nooks and crannies came virtually flat faster with l...

HELP ! model component size huge discrepancy

i spent all day working on a project and saved it yesterday, toolpaths had been made and previewed in sim with no issues, today i open it and 2 components (separate halves of one) are suddenly ~ 291mm instead of ~ 9.5mm ! in the modelling component tree it says the 291mm on mouse over, but in the pr...

Re: Feed Rate question for tapered bits

As for part 2 of my question, 1/16" = 1.5875mm,
so for a 1mm cut on a finishing pass is it ok to go faster ?
i have been and it seems to be ok but will that wear out the bit faster and reduce quality much ?

Feed Rate question for tapered bits

I have the Amana 46282-K 1/16" tapered and just ordered the 46280-K 1/32" tapered as well, 1/4" shank, my question is, so i am clear on it, are the feed rates they say 1x on the chart for the diameter, meaning a 1/4" deep cut ? IF SO, does that mean you can go quite a bit faster if only cutting 1mm ...

Re: How to Pocket using Offset from outside inward ?

OK i tried something that seems to work, i started with a 4x4" project to keep it small to save time in preview Sim, i drew a box around the outside, so 4x4, then half inch smaller each time, with 1/2" end mill as the bit, then did Profile cut ON the vector for each them using Climb, so it's individ...

Re: How to Pocket using Offset from outside inward ?

Thanks. It sure is strange there isn't a way to do that, I thought my idea of using ever smaller boxes from the outside going inward and using Profile with Vector Selection order was going to work, then it went and alternated between Climb and Conventional, maybe the way is to do each pass as a sing...

How to Pocket using Offset from outside inward ?

Maybe there is a reason not to do it but it seems to me it would work for what i want to do, which is use Pocket to level material with a 1/2" end mill using the offset function so that it uses Climb milling the entire time and works it's way from the OUTSIDE to the middle. But it always ends up sta...

3D roughing and Finishing question

I have tried using a pocket path to rough out around a raised model so that i only have to run the tiny finishing on the model itself, with a small boundary offset, but even though i used the exact height of the model as the depth for the pocketing the finish pass goes very slightly deeper and leave...

Re: 3D offset Finishing cut reverses direction halfway !

Thanks !
i might have to also do something like that if i size it down to use as a smaller 3d clipart that i saved it to, i found that going too small ruins it, the 1/4" ballnose is too big at some point of course...
