Re: Using Aspire with a Laser

Hi Greg, I'm currently finishing off with installing a 150W co2 laser on my CNC router (interchangeable head) and my plans for it is mainly profile cutting, so the setup of a 0.2 mill optio to represent the laser in Aspire would work just fine for me. However it would be nice to have the option for ...

Re: Exporting for Print or laser

My lasers will engrave bitmaps, so when I was making some metal plaques using some laser aluminum sheets, in Aspire, I filled in the spaces between lines and text by using Vector Texture tool. I then exported it as an esp file, changed it into a bitmap and it worked great. I could of done it also w...

Re: Dragknife misbehaving

Hi Martin54, the thing is that when I do not use the drag gadget and create the cutting path as if a normal profile cut with a mill it doesn't do it. What you are saying is precisely what I thought but after having checked about it showed that it wasn't the case. Now that I'm thinking about it.........

Dragknife misbehaving

Hi to all, I'm using the drag knife gadget in Aspire 4 and am having some unusual behaviour when cutting a radius. I am using Mach3 as a controller, an oscillating knife and exporting with "Mach3 ATC mm" post processor. The reason for using the drag knife gadget is to avoid the blade turning at shar...

Re: Lithophane material and thickness

Hello Guys, I'm Marten and have been wanting to do a 3D Lithophane for quite a while and now that I have some space to do something of my own, I'll be having a go at my first 3D Lithophane. Now, since I live in Malta (a small island in the mediterranean) and that specific materials are not readily f...

Need to modify Post Processor

Hi to all, I'm using my CNC to carve in wood, using Aspire V4 as the cutting path generator and Mach3 as the intermediate program controlling my CNC. I need to include a command in my post processor so that after having cut each level in the z axis, I can activate a vacuum to clean off the access ch...

Re: Turing coolant on / off within Aspire

Hi Ruud, Wow that was fast! Not even a chance to get home and try out the information gathered so far.... don't get me wrong, I appreciate very much the fast response, it's just that I am not used to such fast response. Now...lets see...since I am not that much litterate with editing G codes and pos...

Turing coolant on / off within Aspire

Hi folks, I've been using Aspire for quite a while on varius wooden and plastic projects. Now I've just entered a new area by machining brass (actually it's engraving that I doing) and need to turn on the cooling option (M07, M08 & M09) within Aspire. The reason for this is not that I need cooling b...

Re: Problem with wrapping rotary axis post processor

Hi Esteeme, No, I had to untick the Rot 360 rollover in the General Logic Configuration settings. This setting is to reset the angle cont to 0 as soon as it lapses 360deg instead of incrimental count. BTW nice stuff you do there on our web.

Hi Guys, Thanks for your feedback! I manged to solve the problem after having another go at it and in fact it was a lousy setting in mach3.

Problem with wrapping rotary axis post processor

Hello, I am having problems with exporting a wrapped engraving toolpath from Aspire to Mach3 and am suspecting that the post processor is not adequate. My conclusions follow after having done the following: 1. After having done all the design and verified in aspire, engraving cutting path looks as i...

Re: Vectric Labs!

Hi Guys. Good job. I've got 1 question: Is it possible to import 3d scans from another source of scanning using Vectric Kinect Wizard? I'm thinking maybe it would be easier to manipulate / assemble multiple scans (say, such as a figurine which will later be machined on a 4th axis) within Aspire rath...
