Re: Aligning two circles
Thanks, Michael, but I need the smaller circles to remain touching the top edge of the material/straight line that I have drawn along that edge. FWIW, here is the CRV of the final project that I am trying to do. Maybe by showing this, better ways of achieving it will come out. This will be cut on th...

Re: Aligning two circles
I tried every one of the alignment tools and none work. Some give really strange results, in fact.

Aligning two circles
VCarvePro 11.506 Attached is the start of my project - as a .crv file. The objective is to get the two smaller circles to just touch the edge of the larger circle - one on each side symmetrically. I know that I can simply select each of the smaller circles and bump them with the arrow keys until the...

Re: best sheet goods to use
We've used ABS sheets very successfully. I can be painted. It is waterproof and not too heavy. It is pricey, but so far, it seems to be very durable in our northern climate.

Re: Tablet
If you are referring to gSender by Sienci in Canada, I have posted on the Sienci forum about using an android table and TouchPortal to run my Long Mill using gSender.
If that is not your reference, never mind.

Re: Rotary CNC Pen Making
Over years, I have turned hundreds of pens. Not one of them compares to the work you do. Thanks very much for posting your process. I have not turned a pen in a long time, but your excellent instructions could very well bring me back to it.

Re: Modeling Resolution
FWIW, I learned much of my VCarvePro knowledge when starting out from Mark's excellent videos. I did not enter into them believing that he was perfect. (Only I am perfect. :D ) However, it was clear from the effort that he put into them that he was earnest in trying to help people learn what can be ...

Re: Noob question
I don't use UGS any more, preferring gSender. However, I believe that you will find that UGS show measurements in metric because grbl is native metric. The UGS setting is just for display, though, and should not affect the units in your gcode. It's a bit strange that you are using a grbl inch post, ...

Very nicely done. Just an FYI, you can do very intricate carved pieces as double sided jobs in Vcarve.

Re: Vcarve toolpath depth question
Excellent option suggestions. Thanks much. IMHO, if he is getting the results that he wants by lowering his Z gantry manually, his better approach would simply be to follow adze's suggestion and use the jogging feature of his controlling software to lower the gantry, then resetting Z0. That said, I ...

Re: Vcarve toolpath depth question
That's an excellent question, Martin. I am asking this for another CNC user - really. The situation is this. The user v carves letters onto rough barn board type lumber. These are to be things like cottage signs. The problem is that, if he uses a touch plate to set Z0, since the plate rests on the h...

Re: Vcarve toolpath depth question
Thanks much to you all. I must confess that I did not actually cut material. If I had, I likely would have seen that the path using a start depth ended up being wider than the others. Since this is the objective, it worked! Now that you all have confirmed that, I will do a short test cut, just to ge...
