Thanks Steve, that was giving me a headache
I had just done what I thought was the same process and got a totally different result.

Re: drilling a convex hole

A marble is convex. The hole you want is concave. If you have ball-end router bit that has a similar diameter to the marble you could use that either with a drilling toolpath or a pocket toolpath if the ball-end diameter is less than the marble diameter. Questions about cutting holes for marbles to...

Re: Tiling question

is there a way that I can just cut the radius on the end in the profile cut? I have been fighting with this project for some time since I am pretty close to the limits of my machine. I have 25 1/2 inches on my x axis and it's a 24" sign so it doesn't leave much room for clamps. I had asked in a diff...

Re: Bit is rising kinda high from function to function

I had planned on using the rolling in the stands to support the board on either side, and I have machine a rip fence to keep it accurate. In my post on tiling problems someone gave me some reference material on YouTube that I watched and that was very helpful. I think when I round off the end I am j...

Re: Bit is rising kinda high from function to function

No, you didn't - actually you did when sharing the .CRV. But how on this planet are you going to do this ? You must be 'master_of_tiling' - beyond my capacities anyway. in serious awe, Marcel. Don’t be I think I have bit off more than I can chew but in theory it should work with 4-36” tiles

If that is what is being done it's far easier to do it on a router table.
Did I mention this piece is 12 foot long? I’m not worried about the profile pass just the lettering and mounting holes

Re: Bit is rising kinda high from function to function

okaaaay, Enlighten me: is that really your normal working mode ? You have a lot of trust in the exact alignment of your material. I would do this once, in exceptional cases (rare material), but not in 40 jobs. It would drive me nuts. Normally, I (not coincidentally 'Vectric Floorsweeper' until last...

Because the original object is a text object that has an area below the visible bottom for a descender (such as in the letter ‘y’). Convert the text object to curves and all will be visually centred.
greatly appreciated....Thanks

Re: snap to full size

I used the "T" method and typed 12X11... (this is my preferred method too, I just forgot the short cut)
why does it look off centered?

Re: snap to full size

I'm guessing you mean making the design the same size as the material. Simplest way is to press T and enter change the dimensions there. If you want to keep the aspect ratio then make sure Link XY is checked. You can enter H= and W= for the width/height and they will change to the actual values. An...

Re: Bit is rising kinda high from function to function

Just for getting a better idea: how much larger (than your design) is your material (*)? As long as your clamps are outside any toolpath you probably are safe.If not, set the safe height to above clamp height. Marcel. (*) your .CRV looks like the material size is exactly the design size; a profile ...
