Re: Why should this take so long to carve?
I don’t ask cops for legal advice! 🤣 Lawyers in courts can turn all that around to your disadvantage. Assuming something happens. And you know what? A sign really isn’t going to stop something from happening either. Tex, I agree with you - on not asking cops on matters such as those concerned. It's...

Re: Why should this take so long to carve?
... a home warning sign, that a customer wants.... That's not a warning sign. That's lawyer bait! (You might be called to testify! ) Hi, Tex. I meant to come back here, before now, to share something with you. I had grown quite concerned over the (above) portion of your reply, a...

Re: Why should this take so long to carve?
Wow!! I have gained a wealth of information, from you fantastic CNC'ers. I just have to climb over the fear of (possibly) doing something totally wrong, and wrecking my machine. I WILL accomplish that, though .
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.

Re: Why should this take so long to carve?
Ok, I'm confused now. You say that the job will take 4 hours to cut so I'm presuming you're talking about the estimated time in Aspire rather than the actual cutting? That job is showing as 42 minutes for me with a scale factor of 1. The only way I can get to 4 hours is with a scale factor of 6 whi...

Re: Why should this take so long to carve?
Thanks to all. I have (at least I THINK) found a way to get the CRV file posted, here. Hopefully, I DID do it right, and - hopefully, it will give clear view of what's going on.

Why should this take so long to carve?
Attached, is a jpg of a home warning sign, that a customer wants. I tried to have a CRV file to submit, bit it was stated to be too large (5+MB's). This project is 18"x16", and was set with a 1/8" EM for clearing/profile, and a 60 degree V-bit for carving. I also had it with a speed of 100/ipm. The ...

Re: Can't change tools.
I can understand what you're getting at, but I was (actually) attempting it again with the same material (3/16' whiteboard), and settings. But I thank you, for the suggestion.

Re: Can't change tools.
Hey Adze, Yes, it does look like that. But you know what? Just before visiting back here, I (being one to not easily give up) had given another shot at it. And - lo and behold - The software had changed its mind, and acted right :) . I did absolutely nothing different, but I am back in stroke again....

Can't change tools.
Just recently, I had an issue with my computer, which warranted a formatting. In the aftermath of that, I encountered a problem with my reinstallation of Aspire. Now, I cannot honestly say that the problem resides with the installation, in and of itself, but there IS a hurdle that I can't seem to ju...

Re: Installation of clipart.
John & Adrian - I thank you BOTH for your replies. What had happened was this: I had attempted an install of one of the clipart packages and, then, went in to open up said package - just to check that all was well with that. I could readily see that references to all the clipart packages were showin...

Installation of clipart.
Hello, and Merry Christmas to all. Dues to issues with my computer, I (earlier this morning) had to venture through a formatting procedure. Naturally, there was the involvement of having to reinstall my programs. My first program to put back on was my Vectric Aspire, along with the clipart. I don't ...

What causes THIS?
Today, I've encountered a repeat occurrance of an issue which had cropped up before, though not often. When dealing with a design I have found that multiple copies of artifacts find themselves coupled to some incorporated elements. They wouldn't always be there, at the start, would seem to crop up o...

Help with this DeNiro file, please.
Hello everyone. Robert DeNiro happens to be a favorite actor of myself, and a very good friend of mine. I wish to make a carved-out wooden portrait, of him, for the both of us. I tried to attach a CRV file of my tool-pathing efforts, to show how I had failed, but the file size was too large. However...

Re: newbie here
Yes, the Vectric offerings of programs is awesome. There's something new to learn, about it, every day. But it's a very pleasant learning experience.
