How can I switch the gadget from inches to metric I have a classical fingerboard to make.

Finally was able to get the roughing tool path to work. Set the beginning thickness thicker. On question if you make a mistake entering your perameters is there a way to edit after it is in Aspire? Or do you need to go out and start over? Thanks

Thanks that is a good point. I have been working with that trying to get used to it. The only thing I could do is a roughing tool path. Maybe I don't have enough extra wood to take off. Need to experiment on the machine. Thanks Bill

I used the trace a bitmap to get the fret slots. Is there a better way?

So let me see if I have this right .stl files are 3D. In the fret board file I bought I am getting the radius. I see the fret spacing how do I activate those vectors? I was able to find the tool to outline the model and make tool paths to cut it rough and finished. Thanks for your help.

Thanks I was able to get it to the point were it seems like the right size. It don't seem to have vectors am I missing something?

Thanks Randall- It is a radiused fingerboard for a telecaster. I got it loaded but it is huge. Maybe it was written in metric and I am using iinches. Hello- I bought a 3D plan that is a .stl file. I have been unable to import it into Aspire. I am new to this so maybe this is a dumb question but could use some help. Greenman 69

I will play with that and make the finerboard thicker to start. I was setting at .25 and the finished top is .249 if I read it right. Maybe that would explain it. You must be a teacher at heart thanks for your help and patience.

Well I have been able to do most everything on my test board. Was able to radius the fret slots. I think I can make them less deep that I have in the past because of the radius. The only thing still giving me trouble is doing the rough radius tool path keep getting error message about open vectors a...

Making good progress but ran into issue setting toolpaths for frets. I cut all my fret slots on center expect for the nut slot which I cut to the left. I can't seem to isolate the nut cut line.I hit it and all the frets are active. Did I make a mistake in entering the options? Thanks Greenman 69

Yes I read that over and still have some questions if you don't mind. Can this gadget cut radiused fret slots? What is the difference between tang slots and fret slots? And what is the radiused or square tang slots? Thanks for your help. Bill
