Iconic Akron Ohio

I guess you have to be from Akron Ohio to fully appreciate this but check out the Akron icons on the blimp. Did you know these things and people were from Akron? 18" x 9". Carved on Poplar and painted out with acrylic.

Rat Fink

If you are as old as me and had any interest in cars in your younger years you probably remember Rat Fink. I had a guy that wanted a plaque for his 1978 fender side pick-up for car shows. He has it lowered and all painted up to look like a rusty old beast. Car show name is “Rat Bastard”. This is wha...

Re: Michael Tyler book boxes

Very nice! My son just finished his first book and is getting it published in the near future. I plan to use this as a template and make him a storage box with his cover design on the lid to fit his 1st edition copy.

Re: Tool Database

I was able to clear the message by simply hitting the button at the top of the tool database window. You will need to log in to your VECTRIC account, not your forum account, so your tool data set can be uploaded to the Vectric server for safe backup storage. My understanding is you can then download...

Re: Dust Boot - Touch Plate

Thanks fir the suggestions. I do think I can drop the bit a bit and try it. The brush was hitting the material surface but was only cutting .055 so I didn’t really consider that might be an issue.

Dust Boot - Touch Plate

Has anyone had this happen? I recently purchased a touch plate for my Next Wave CNC. Everything worked great and still does if I don't use my dust shoe. I can set the Z and start the file with the shoe off and everything is good. As soon as I put the shoe on, my Z only cuts about 1/2 the depth. This...

Re: Newbie - Toolpath preview issues

Forgive me if this is too much information but not sure how much you know about the program. I downloaded your .crv and took a look at the toolpath. It appears you have the tool being used saved in the "tool type" dialog box in your tool library as a ball nose . I recalculated your toolpath using my...
