Re: Axiom question

I did call them today and they said the units I was looking at use a Richauto A-11 controller, any of you folks ever use one before. My only experience is with one of the old white CNC Sharks that had the controller loaded onto a laptop computer, is this type of pendent easy to operate? Does anyone ...

Axiom question

I see that the Axiom machines come with a pendent controller, does it come with control software loaded or do you have to purchase an additional software program to get it to run? If you have to buy software for this what would be a good choice?

Re: Axiom Post processor

not sure what "line" I need to change, I have never had to do anything with a post processor before except to pick it out of a list in Aspire when I save a file. I have an email into vectric so maybe they can send me detailed instructions on how to do this. I have had such major issues with the HD4 ...

Re: Axiom Post processor

Not sure I understood that, what good does it do to just change the name? the file would still be the same and I am guessing that there is a difference or the other machines wouldn't show post processors for both inch and metric

Re: Good material for spoil board?

I bought an HD4 extended which has been a pain since day one but to protect the top I used MDF cut into 1 1/2 strips and then countersunk the screw heads so that there wouldn't be any chance of a bit hitting them. This allows every other slot in the aluminum table to be open so I can clamp just abou...

Axiom Post processor

I bought a NWA HD4 extended that is a nightmare and I have requested Rockler to get the process started to return it. I see they sell the Axiom brand as well but it looks like the only post processor in Aspire is in mm instead of inches. Does Vectric have another post processor? If they don't what w...

Re: Shark H4 vs Shopbot Desktop

I bought a Shark HD4 extended and at this point I am hoping that Rockler does something to make it right. I ordered mine in November and after more than a month I got it in the week of Christmas. I have yet to be able to cut anything with it. I bought it due to a few selling points that unfortunatel...

Re: The need to sand after routing

For what it is worth I cut mainly kiln dried walnut and cherry and some projects come out with very little sanding and some have areas that need some extra work. I don't know how to explain it other than certain wood blanks have a grain pattern when combined with what gets cut by the machine results...

Re: Dust Collection

Thanks guys, I am still waiting for my new NWA HD4 to get here, it is supposed to ship next week. I have an original white CNC Shark that I have ran forever but was only cutting walnut and Cherry. The big reason for getting the new one was to do bigger projects but my former dust collection was a la...

Dust Collection

I ordered a new HD4 and ordered the dust collection boot that they make for it. I got it in and the "adapter" to hook your dust hose up to it is too big for the hole that they machined in the dust collection boot. So far I have not been able to get NWA to respond to my emails on that issue, but the ...

Re: DeWalt DWP611

I will let everyone know I spoke with the factory rep on this several times and I have gone through 6 different routers now. Yes the design saves the armature but the problem is that you have no idea when they will fail. I kept a log and the last three based on projected cut times, etc. and I was ge...

Re: Best Tablet For Aspire

I got to go to the Dallas training years ago and James B was using a Wacom (which was like watching a wizard perform) and I got one and use it when I need that level of input, never had any issues with mine.

Re: Dallas PD

You did a good job on this, I am law enforcement and do a lot of badge and patches for various agencies. As one person already commented it is a lot easier to do the folds yourself and once you do it a time or two it gets to be easy.

Re: Model a picture of a persons face?

another thought for everyone. I needed a model of a person (complete with body and face) for a logo I was working on and I didn't have the time to build all of that from scratch. I have tried doing human faces before with mixed results and yes it is time consuming, so what I did was go to a 3D model...
