finally, got around to doing the mirror and oh no! it didn't work and was the same part or so I thought for two confused minutes. As an addendum to the above instructions, recalculate toolpaths before previewing the mirror part there is always something.

Perfect! I just opened the file and that was exactly what I was looking for, more specifically, the vertical portion of the round being present and the cutout lining up with the vertical portion. Thanks, guys, I can drive the bus now.
