Re: V carve flat area removal

Lost steps are usually caused by asking the machine to do more than it is able to handle. Slow your feed rate down and/or take shallower passes.

Re: Profile TP ignores vector start point based on where origin is set

This is interesting, and not something I have given a lot of thought to before, but how do they know which side you care about to declare which side of the cut is “climb” and which side is “conventional”? If you’re creating a pocket, then obviously the outside is the “good” surface, and climb cuttin...

Re: Sandpaper grits...now the same on the pond:)

I'm of the opinion that since there are no explosives involved, it is unlikely that this leak will do much more than leak. Having said that, it isn't likely to improve without intervention. I would suggest a welding patch job or replacement. The first rule of welding pressure tanks is that you don’...

Re: Easy Dovetail Maker 5.0

I was just signing in to report that I tried your earlier file and it still didn't work even though the LUA is readable, but I saw you just posted an updated version. I downloaded that, renamed from .c to .vgadget and it installed correctly in 9.5. Thanks!

Re: Box Creator Issues

I have played with the Box gadget a few times, and the allowance field has messed me up, in part because there are no instructions on what the heck to do. I believe it is looking for a decimal number in thousandths of an inch. If you want a slight tolerance, entering .003 might help you. The other t...

Re: Easy Dovetail Maker 5.0

Hi Jim - I'm excited to try your gadget. I have VCarve Pro 9.5 and when I download both the 20200515 and 20200518 versions I get the error "Failed to extract the vgadget archive". I tried downloading the file from both Edge and Chome, and extracted the zip file to my desktop. If I double click on yo...

Re: Moulding toolpath question - rosettes

Thank you both for your replies. Steve, I tried your negative boundary offsets. I never would have thought about trying a negative number there. I played with it a bit, and indeed negative numbers calculate, however I think this isn't the right solution for rosettes, as the inside of the rosette sta...

Moulding toolpath question - rosettes

I'm trying to make rosettes using the moulding toolpath. I have figured out how to create the profile I want and wrap it around a tiny circle. It looks close to what I want in the 3D preview, but I'm having trouble with getting the toolpath to cut down far enough on the outside of the rosette. I hav...
