Re: Cutting fine lines in Vectric. How?
I do a lot of cedar signs and they need some special treatment to keep the wood from chipping out as its quite soft. I have a knife that I use to cut vinyl material and it works great to score the lines in the cedar before milling, a profile cut on the line and some times run it twice. Not sure why ...

Re: A little bit of tearout...
I make a scoring cut when using material prone to chipping. When making signs in Red Cedar, I have a small drag knife blade I do a pass on the line of the letters before running the router bits. An extra step but saves the work piece.

Re: Paint recomendation for CNC Walnut Sign
It's not from Sherwin Williams but I agree with the Benjamin Moore Aura, it is a water based Acrylic paint that I use on wood signs, with proper application it is a good lasting finish. My signs are in western red cedar and require a primer for the best result. Sherwin should have a comparable produ...

Re: Poc marks in woodgrain
With not knowing how many things you may have tried there are a few variables that come to mind you could try, The pattern goes right up to your border you might try to stay away from the border to lessen those edge pock marks, The texture menus have a longest and shortest stroke length you might tr...

Re: plaque recommendations
I wonder if this is a case for running multiple simulations of the cut using different high resolution texture images and saying “are you really sure that this is the look that you want”? Depending on the logo the results might not be prime. Some sample images for use in the simulation are: here (q...

Re: plaque recommendations
I have made many round table tops with the same method you described in your first post, it works just fine. The closer you can get to edge grain rather than flat grain the more stable the cut of wood is and the appearance is more uniform. Sometimes the grain can take away from the design if it's to...
