Back up your files!
Annoying event of the day. All, and I mean all of my Vcarve files have disappeared off my computer. Fortunately a lot of them were just archived and I'll never need to use them again. Most I can easily redraw, but there were a few that will take an age to recreate - the ornately carved top of teleca...

Re: Too many fonts
Given how complex the code for Vcarve must be, I would expect that adding a user definable fonts folder would be quite a simple addition.
Perhaps we should all start asking for it.

Re: Windows 11 Compatibility
Don't get me started on windows 10, my loathing for it knows no bounds. Windows 11? well it can't be worse, can it? come back windows 7, I liked you, you worked.

Too many fonts
Is there a way of a user editing down fonts into a favourites folder? There are so many, and so many that are very similar that a folder with ten or so most used would be good. I know that the last used appear at the top, but a sub folder would be neater.

Re: Cutting acrylic fast or slow?
10mm thick, with lettering 8mm deep cut with a 90 degree cutter. This will be cut on the rear and I am aware the the text needs to be reversed.

Cutting acrylic fast or slow?
I've been asked to make lettering in some acrylic. I've not done this before, so to avoid waste, is it better to cut fast or slow. I want to avoid heat build up.
Any advice will be welcome.
Thanks

Re: Spoil-board help
All I do is a .5mm pocket cut across the entire surface of the spoil board with a 20mm bit, then I create a 50x50mm grid across the entire board and cut that to a depth of 1mm with a 90 V bit. This may work for you.

Wilkigr, I just opened your file and yes, it works. So what did you do to fix the issue?

Re: Missing N
Thanks for the replies. I have fixed this by switching to a different font, which actually looks better anyway.

Missing N
I don't understand what is happening here. When I preview, all of this carves except for the 'N' in NEVER. The vector validator says that there are overlaps - which there are, but the 'N' in SNIPER also has overlaps but that carves okay. The snipping tool does not allow me to get rid of the overlaps...

Re: Material dimensions missing
Hi Adrian
Thanks for the reply. The thing is that I haven't changed anything. The material dimensions were there one day and gone the next. So I don't understand what had happened.
It's not a big deal, but having the dimension displayed was handy.

Material dimensions missing
The material dimensions used to be displayed in the bottom left corner, and now they're not. I've not done any updates, how do I get them back? material dimensions.PNG Could this be a windows 10 update thing? after all, every now and then W10 decides that I don't need to see the battery status icon ...
