While you were typing that i was doing another model. This is a cowboy hat from a dxf i got on CNCzone. This came out good, especially the defenition between the hat and brim. I think i might cut this one later tomight. This method is very simple and with a little practice i will be trying out some ...

Finally got around to trying this. I'm very new to 3d max and i found this to be not to difficult. I just had to modify it a little to suit me. I didn't use the snap to frozen function because i found it was always snapping to another line i didn't want, it could just be some setting somewhere i don...

I am interested in learning how to do this using 3d max. I do have 3d max but i am not all that great with it yet, so i would be interested in learning your method. My first litho
Here is my first litho. I used a cheapo cutting board with a 3/32 ballnose end mill. This was done in one pass at 45% stepover. It was supposed to be the roughing pass but i liked the way it looked so i didn't do a finish. I think it looks good for only 45 min. on the machine, it's hard to tell by t...

What type of material?

The results were pretty impressive however the MDF left lots of little fuzzies and also in a couple spots tiny chunks came loose. My question is, what woods is everyone finding good for pretty detailed 3d models? Hard wo...

3D Machinist aviailability?
Does anyone know if 3d Machinist is still available now that Cut3d is out? I tried downloading it but the emailed link doesn't work. I emailed the webmaster at vectorart3d but haven't gotten a response yet and just thought i'd try here. Thanks, Ryan
