Re: 2 Rail Sweep question

Steve - that's perfect and truly amazing. Thank you!!! You can do it by adding a second sweep with a multiply combine mode. Please see the attached file. I set the rails at the end of the shape and created a sweep vector that is exactly 1mm tall except at the end where it needs to slope down. The wa...

Re: 2 Rail Sweep question

I created a fin/tail using a 2 rail sweep as per the attached file. Can the 2 rail sweep, or another method, produce the curve as well per the screenshot?

2 Rail Sweep question

Hi all, I have created an object using a two rail sweep and I'm wondering if this can be modified to produce this curve also. At the moment the edge is vertical, not curved (see attached file).

Thank you, Onetrack.

Re: Using model cross section tool as an alternative to sculpting

Very good. Seems like this process could have a lot of benefit users as you say. However for me it's a bit tricky to envisage the exact steps you took. Is it possible to post a basic/simplified Aspire file see what you did please?

Re: Help needed - creating a funnel

Yes - very good... Glad you figured it out. You might want to reduce the height of the moulding toolpath profile on both sides to just slightly less than the material thickness. That will leave a little material to hold the part in place instead of using tabs. Also, you might try to cut the hole fro...

Re: Help needed - creating a funnel

Brilliant answers Steve, adze_cnc & Tailmaker. The discussions and file really helps, thank you! I was trying to do it using a Two Rail Sweep, but failed miserably! Vectric say: where there is an extreme edge like this, you need to add in a Boundary Offset in the toolpaths to allow it to cut out fur...

Help needed - creating a funnel

Hi all, I've recently upgraded to Aspire and am learning, learning, learning...! I need a few pointers to create a funnel per this thread from a while back: https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?t=10466 The shape I'm looking to replicate is the funnel in the diagram. An Aspire file would really he...

Re: Magnetic Crocodile clips on touch probes

I ditched the crock clip years ago in favour of a rare earth magnet.

I also ensured the connection to the touch probe has plenty of mechanical support and the wire I use is super flexible (eg multimeter cable).

I will try to write up a simple step by step project and post it in a few days using wood to create the stamping blanks.
This would be nice to see if the offer is still there.

I look forward to checking that out. Thanks. Hmm… If we created a think-tank with Tailmaker and FixitMike imagine the problems we could solve!
