Re: Importing bitmap is auto-sizing?
Yes I understand that, I was stating that rather than taking a picture of something and then scaling it by placing a ruler next to the object to scale it accurately. When I design chassis for my PCBs I can use a scanner which imports it at the correct pixels/in resolution based on the meta data. I g...

Re: Importing bitmap is auto-sizing?
Shoot, kind of defeats the purpose. I do this all the time with my PCB cad program. Oh well, I ended up just drawing it by hand using measurements I took with my calipers. Took a lot longer but it came out ok.

Importing bitmap is auto-sizing?
I am trying to engrave some simple dog tags and I scanned a 1:1 image of the blank on my scanner (which imports it as a rectangle document) in order to trace the bitmap to get the size correct. Re: Curves vs. Bezier Curves
256K? Really? Whoaaaa. A lot of what I run is over 1mb in size. IIRC the largest file I have ever run was right at 8.8mb. Since the iron is good maybe you should be looking into a retro fit of some sort? I'm pretty sure the memory can hold more than 256k, the smallest reference I can find to memory...

Re: Problem with clearing tool for inlay.
Thanks, I guess it is a good thing to learn on your first attempt! Having that 1/8” bit plunge all the way down and start routing was rather alarming. But I was also impressed with how well it did, I usually end up with dust when milling walnut but this created perfect looking “chips” and the machin...

Problem with clearing tool for inlay.
I just bought VcarvePro in preparation for the MegaV machine I ordered. In the meantime I am getting used to the software by doing little projects using my little Bantam Tools machine I've had (mainly for doing PCBs). So I am making little drink coasters with inlays. The first one I try the pocket w...
