Re: 2021 User Group Meeting - San Diego

I can't wait ti tell my wife that we threw away $600 in aitfare. Double-check with your airline for refund policy. My wife and I have cancelled two cruises and three airline trip reservations and were able to get full refunds or credit (in one case) from all. Hopefully, you can too! I certainly wil...

Re: creating a lip

Thank You!
Worked great and now I have a little understanding of the moulding tool path.
Much appreciated.

creating a lip

I'm not sure how I should have titled this post. What I would like to do is make a round coaster 4" in diameter and then offsetting in a 1/2" and making a pocket 1/8 deep inside of that. The question is, can I make that 1/2 "lip" rounded in VCarve or is this something that can only be done in Aspire...

Re: Box gadget taBS

Never mind I found it.
I didn't catch it that the box gadget automatically puts these large tabs in and I needed to change edit tabs on my cutout toolpath.
Not sure why it put in such large and thick tabs.

Box gadget taBS

I used the box gadget to create a box using tabs (not dovetails) Previewing the tool paths I noted that it does not cut through all the way around the piece but I thought this must just be tabs. When I ran my box using a compression bit the "tabs" are almost an 1/8 thick and quite long. Is this norm...

making holes from a measured point

I'm wondering if there is a way to measure from a point, a specific distance and insert a hole, or a line or whatever. I can use the measuring tool to measure something that already exists but I'm looking to drill holes in specific spots, repeatedly. Trial and error until it where I need it is not a...

Re: Making a box with fit together edges

Ok next question I would like to drill holes in each male tabs. If the material that I'm using is 3/4" thick and I want to drill two holes in each tab 3/8" from the edges, Is there a way to set this up that can be copied to each of the six box pieces. Considering that the box is not a square but ins...

Re: Making a box with fit together edges

Thank you sooo much Adrian. That is exactly what I was looking for.
I knew that this had to be something that other people have done in the past I just didn't know where to look.

Making a box with fit together edges

I am trying to make a box out of plywood where the pieces fit together with tabs, kind of like a puzzle. For example where the top meets the sides the top may have one center tab that would set between two tabs on the sides. Doing this wherever one face meets the other. I looked but could not find a...

Re: Importing files to Vcarve

Thank you Michael I have gone back to F360 and exported in stl making sure that the correct unit measure (mm vs inches) was selected both exporting and when importing in Vectric. That seems to be working although I've never dealt with stls so a little bit of learning to be done here. The reason I st...

Importing files to Vcarve

I'm trying to import some dxf files into Vcarve pro. They were exported from other software in dfx format, when I try to import them I get a error message that says Failed to load component from file (location on computer) Check file contains model, , Looking at the file in my directory it has conte...
