Re: Model import

No bubble bursted don’t worry about that, this is a hobby. It is a model from Vitalie, I am playing around with fusion and powermill but I really don’t have a lot of time to get serious with it. I did use a model he shared on the rotary and it came out ok, I did a quick work up on a 2 sided version ...

Re: Model import

The rod is not on the import model if I look at it in fusion, how does one prevent the Aspire from adding it?

Re: 3D Carving Times

With a detailed model like 3dwave.us sells you can expect a carve that will take a few hours from my experience.
It also depends on your import resolution and machine capabilities.

Model import

I am importing a model I purchased in to Aspire 11.554, I am having a problem I have not seen before. The empty space between the fireman's legs is getting filled, please see attached screen shots. The model looks good on the import screen, I am confused. Thank You in advance. Scott fireman import.p...

Hi Scott,

With a 30 degree included angle Engraving tool, shouldn’t the Tool database be specified with a Side Angle = 15 degrees

Tony
Maybe that is why I didn't get the detail I was expecting, I will do more reading in the Vectric help files, Thank You.

Re: A Rotary 4th Axis disaster... I am very discouraged here

I just started playing with a rotary on my Shark and my first rounding toolpath hit the edge of the block like yours shows in your photo, I have not investigated if it is the setup procedures nextwave provided or the PP.

Re: Trying new bits

Scott I got the 30 degree bits after your last post, cheap ones on Amazon, I attach a shot of my settings. I used a 1/32 TBN first followed by a 20 degree .0157 bit I had laying around. When the .005's arrived I did a run with it. All the paths were Offset climb. I did hit it with Tried and true in-...

Trying new bits

A carve I tried with a new 1/8” shaft 30 degree engraving bit with a .005 tip. I don’t know the wood species but it’s heavy.
