No. Not sure of the minimum size, but probably the size of a kids head. I still need to mess with it more.

Re: 3D camera project
I have only really scanned about 5 things. My daughter 2 animal mounts and my girls scanned me. The most I can say is it is tricky to do a full around scan. I takes calm and patients. I will take some shots of the foam heads of my daughters. This guy does a pretty good review and trys some stuff to ...

Re: 3D camera project
Rhino is free from their site right now for Mac because it is beta. Blender is a free program that does the same thing only it isn't as friendly and I am not that 3d swave. I either saved it or exported it as .obj from the program. I will have to check clay out.

Re: 3D camera project
I saved the pics as .obj's and had to bring it into the program Rhino and adjust the axis so it was straight on for best cutting.

3D camera project
Okay, Everyone needs to start buying 3D cameras. I recently purchased a Sense from Cubify for $400. It doesn't seem to scan small objects like figurines but people and animals have work out great. Here is my first actual job where I scanned a shoulder mounted Cape Buffalo and then carved it out of w...

Re: Windy Ridge
Beautiful work and collaboration! .. I am working on a sign with a very similar layout. I have been struggling with how I was going to carve the foam to look like rope. Well duh, just use rope. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Re: My CRAZIEST inlay to date.
I work for a taxidermy company. One would shoot a sheep then have it mounted, in this case the sheep looks as though it is walking down a cliff of rock. The rock will set on top of this base and the sheep on the rock. This piece will be used as an advertising piece at trade show this winter.

My CRAZIEST inlay to date.
This is a base for a sheep. I will add a picture once it is finished.
The main piece is cherry 28" tall by 24" wide. The other inlayed woods are Wenge, Birdseye Maple, Leopard wood, and Chakte-coc.

Mid Michigan Indexer person Wanted
I have been working with a customer who wants about 15 prototype pieces cut. Basically it is a 2" walnut dowel with an 1/8 inch groove maze cut into it about 12" long. I have been tinkering with my indexer and am too busy to give him the time needed. If you are in Mid Michigan and are interested in ...
