Sorted! Many thanks. I used the search for open vectors from the edit menu instead of using the join vectors icon, once forud the vector was joined in the usual way.

I have closed the vectors but the dialogue box says there is 1 open vector and I can't find it. If I cut on the line I will loose the chamver around the perimeter, I have never encountered this problem before...

Tool path problem

Hi, I am trying to cut the toolpath shown in the picture, all I want is the outer profile but for some reason it is implying I am using the wrong tool. Here is my Christmassy adaptation of Michael Tyler's Paradise box. The carved designs were removed and replaced with text and some festive designs and engraved on to lid, front and back panels. Woos used was Poplar and Beech and finished with 50/50 shellac/methylated spirit then waxed. Inside lined ...

Parish Pump Planter

Another nice project of the month from Michael Tyler. After some initial confusion over cutters and altering the layout, I eventually ended up with a pleasing result.

Yes, all went perfectly apart from the handle, I am making a new pair in Mahogany as I had a suitable piece lying around...

I do have a 1 1/4 surfacing bit. The boards were in the car anyway so it was easier, took less than 5 minutes to do 2x5 ft lengths...

I will amend accordingly. I have tried it out and the results are encouraging. I took my 7/8 boards to a joiners shop and had it pushed through the thicknesser to 3/4", altered the layout and victory was mine! Many thanks for the help and guidence folks...
