Selecting vectors not to cut?
Hi there, We need to cut out some very large triangles in different shapes with a logo punched out of some of them. Once arranged together they make a 3.6 x 2.4m wall display. Some triangles have no logo so my issue is knowing which piece goes where after nesting/cutting? We need to nest (or manuall...

Re: First three Jobs :)
Very nice work Deej. I wish I had better skills at the painting department. So you use a varnish before painting on all your items? What kind of paint? Is it oil based or acrylic? Hi bud, The paint is all water-based, some acrylic some emulsion (like a household paint). But I have discovered more r...

Re: First three Jobs :)
I am NOT going to use that word (pukka). Nope. Never. With my luck someone will claim that I swore at them. Totally agree! :) And I was laughing watching Stephen Colbert on youtube this week doing his bit to camera about Trump over here meeting the Queen etc . . Check it out if you didn't see it, w...

Re: First three Jobs :)
Word of the Day: pukka A slang-term used in British English to describe something as "first class" or "absolutely genuine". The word pukka enjoys an unusual status in Britain both as a current slang term and a dusty relic of the Raj. As a London slang term, pukka means first-rate or excellent. The ...

Re: Hi Everyone - New User Bits Question
My take: Image 1 - spiral end mills appear to be for plastics. Straight bit is general purpose. Image 2 - The second and fourth bit look like plastics bits. The rest are general purpose end mills. First bit looks like the cutting edge may be chipped off. Image 3 - Look like general purpose spirals....

Re: Hi Everyone - New User Bits Question
In image 3 there are up and down cut spiral bits. One lifts the chips out of the cut, the other pushes them down. Hence the names. The down cuts are used to reduce or entirely eliminate splitting on the surface of the work piece. Pay attention to the direction of the helixes and sort them according...

Re: First three Jobs :)
PS: Here is a funny story. See in this close-up of the layers in illustrator, I made a circle 4mm to make sure that I checked all the tight, inner curves between the palm leaves so they would cut properly. Well, they would have if it had been left at (4ft) 1200mm wide! After spending what felt like ...

Re: First three Jobs :)
This is roughly how it sits together, not fixed yet, doing all the fixing etc this week and also, need to clear-coat them all with a water-based varnish first.
Cheers

Re: First three Jobs :)
The third job we are still working on presently. Miam-themed 80's night. We have also designed artwork for a sign (image below) which I drew first in Adobe illustrator, them brought into Photoshop to add all the effects and bling! ;) I then used the vector palm tree to import to VCarve in three sect...
