Something I stumbled across.

I was looking through the internet the other day, perusing subject matter surrounding "finishing" i.e. masking, painting letters and v-carvings cleanly without using Oramask etc. This guy used water-based wood filler, he smeared the whole job with a light liquid paste and let it dry. Then he was abl...

Re: One wheel on my wagon.

Add a circle around all the inside vectors (both sides) then profile cut outside only the outside circle. Profile cut inside only the spoke areas. Gary Thanks for the reply Gary, all useful info. I managed to get it sorted via Adrian's reply, turns out it was just a matter of increasing the preview...

Re: One wheel on my wagon.

Try increasing the Preview quality (toolpaths menu, preview simulation quality), sometimes at lower resolutions you can get touching pixels and then it doesn't know what is waste. I ran it on the setting I normally use (maximum) and I could remove all the segments. 'd have been there all day Bloody...

One wheel on my wagon.

One wheel on my wagon. Yes one wheel on this little project stencil is giving me the world of annoyance. I want to send the finished mock-up of a toybox frontage to the recipient to peruse and give the go-ahead Problem is I was under the impression that if you double click on the cut-out it will rem...

Re: Something Fishy

Hey Big C... Looks great!!! Love it and your process. Is the colored leaf test for painting? Your question might be better suited to mtylerfl to answer... I'll point him in the direction of your post! Can't wait to see the finished project, make sure you post it so we can see it! Todd Thank you Tod...

Something Fishy

Thanks, Todd for making Koi 1 available. I'm currently working a new sign for over the pond and this model fits the part perfectly. Leaf Colour pallette.jpg It's still a long way off but you can see where I'm going on this. May I ask what is your best method for clearing fuzzies as this is old palle...

Re: Stuck between two models

OK thank you to all that have commented before. This is where I'm at, at the minute. Roughing.jpg The roughing pass being complete I think I'll be fine with the finishing, pocketing, and cutting out strategies. My beef still lies with the texture toolpath. I know now, it would have been easier, I th...

Re: Stuck between two models

I roughed this out today, 5hrs I will do the finishing pass tomorrow. I get all of the above, I'm unsure on one aspect. But I envisage that I will need a little more help with this. (texture path) I will collect some images together and post them later in an effort to get this milled out successfull...

Re: Stuck between two models

Poor Cat…no skin left…………. Another option is to first create the base and add the texture to the base, then add the Koi. In this example I first create the base, downloaded a water texture image, created a component from the bitmap, add and clipped it to the size of the base then add the fish. Joz ...

Re: Stuck between two models

I think I'll go with this, it has a few elements and it fits better on the Pagoda type structure
