Re: Something Fishy

Hey Big C... Looks great!!! Love it and your process. Is the colored leaf test for painting? Your question might be better suited to mtylerfl to answer... I'll point him in the direction of your post! Can't wait to see the finished project, make sure you post it so we can see it! Todd Thank you Tod...

Something Fishy

Thanks, Todd for making Koi 1 available. I'm currently working a new sign for over the pond and this model fits the part perfectly. Leaf Colour pallette.jpg It's still a long way off but you can see where I'm going on this. May I ask what is your best method for clearing fuzzies as this is old palle...

Re: Stuck between two models

OK thank you to all that have commented before. This is where I'm at, at the minute. Roughing.jpg The roughing pass being complete I think I'll be fine with the finishing, pocketing, and cutting out strategies. My beef still lies with the texture toolpath. I know now, it would have been easier, I th...

Re: Stuck between two models

I roughed this out today, 5hrs I will do the finishing pass tomorrow. I get all of the above, I'm unsure on one aspect. But I envisage that I will need a little more help with this. (texture path) I will collect some images together and post them later in an effort to get this milled out successfull...

Re: Stuck between two models

Poor Cat…no skin left…………. Another option is to first create the base and add the texture to the base, then add the Koi. In this example I first create the base, downloaded a water texture image, created a component from the bitmap, add and clipped it to the size of the base then add the fish. Joz ...

Re: Stuck between two models

I think I'll go with this, it has a few elements and it fits better on the Pagoda type structure
Thanks again for your reply

Re: Stuck between two models

Is the texture to be 3D or 2.5D? Draw vectors around the model and kanjii. Those areas can be excluded from cutting. Thanks, gkas (sorry I don't know your name), Much appreciated Its a sign for over the pond, I may go with Live Edge stock eventually but it seems to be working out OK in the preview....

Stuck between two models

Hi Having a "Mental Block" moment, I'm sure there's an easy way. I'm wishing to add texture to the plate area but not on the koi on the image below. I want to also add some V carved Japanese kanji text and would like to also avoid the texture running through it Does that all make sense? How do I app...

Re: Surrounding a game of CHESS

Hi, This morning I got a little final sanding done. Below decks, in the drawer compartment, I sprayed 2 coats (Black) whilst giving the Celtic Rope frieze its first coat of F&B "Studio Green" which I will then sand back and repeat. It's comming along, slowly. Celtic Rope first coat.jpg Below Decks.j...

Re: Made these for my Dremel tool.

Taking a leaf out of the Wizards book LOCKDOWN is having a detrimental effect on me, sometimes I have to question WTF is going on inside my head.   Today, to relieve a bout of boredom I made a small furry finishing mop. (I hope no copyright rules were infringed  ) Don't worry t...

Re: Made these for my Dremel tool.

This couldn't have come at a more apt time Dumbledore (or is the Fumbledore) I was going to buy some fluffy sanding mops to finish my chessboard surround. This will help tremendously in getting into those awkward inserts on the Celtic Rope reliefs Thanks for this stunning idea. Prep2.jpg Regar...

Re: text

As per Adrian above, also you can use the "Edit Text Spacing and Curve" to split your lettering spaces and line spacing as depending on what bits your using they may be to close and collide.
