Re: Problems creating dovetail toolpath

Resolved the problem I was having. Ended up being the tool diameter. I have defined my tools in metric and the gadget evidently assumes imperial measurements.

Problems creating dovetail toolpath

I was familiarizing myself with the dovetail gadget and can't seem to get it to work like the video. I am having problems with it generating the tool paths for cutting the angles on the pins. I can create the pins without problems. But when I generate the toolpath, the toolpath does not extend into ...

Re: Work around for an error

Mondo: I do not have any problems creating toolpaths for the rectangular areas in your file using a 1/16" bit. You might want to double check the diameter of your tool just in case there's a typo.

Re: Strange Vcarve Behavior

Today I was attempting some pocketing using the female inlay feature and noticed something strange. I am pocketing out some rectangular areas that have rounded corners. Using the female inlay function, the toolpath created doesn't appear to lift the tool and jog to the next pocket area - rather it t...

Having problems with V5 recognizing the tool database

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and/or knows the solution. I recently installed Version 5. I went to create tool paths for my first project and realized that I had a new tools database. So, I exited the software. Renamed the tools.tool_db and copied over my Version 4.6 too...

Re: Where's my ver. 5 ???

Hi Brian:

I would like to purchase the upgrade as well. I've sent several emails to sales over the last several days and am not getting any replies. I didn't recieve any email notification of the new release either. Could someone from sales send me a PM with a link?

Thanks

Re: Question about leaf molding 50087

Thanks Randall. I do appreciate the reply and your reply does make sense to me. I'm just having a difficult time visualizing a molding in styes B and C.

Question about leaf molding 50087

Does anyone have any direct experience with this molding and could explain to me the difference between the 3 styles for this molding?

Re: Aspire

Tony and/or Brian: I had purchased both Vcarve Pro and Cut3d. Any chance of getting a little better discount on Aspire for having purchased the combined packages? Also, does this mean that Vectric will be retiring Vcarve and Cut3d to focus energies on Aspire? The new product looks great. Any chance ...

Re: Getting ARC moves from my ARC post processor

Greg: Thank-you for the reply! Now, with your input, things are starting to make sense. Apparently, if you change your units in material setup from inches to metric, V-carve automatically changes your arcs to bezier. Also, if you export your vector from V-carve to an EPS format, it also conver...

Getting ARC moves from my ARC post processor

I am hoping someone (Tony ? Brian? other?) has an answer for this problem. I have been working a lot lately with the post processors supporting ARC moves and am having very strange results. Bascially, I can use the same exact vector in two different files. Sometimes, the post processsor produces ARC...

Changing units and ARC post processor

I recently created a file in which I specified the units to be in inches. After creating the file I realized that I needed to change the units to metric. So, I went into material setup and changed units to metric and recalculated my tool paths. Everything appears to be OK except when I try to output...

Thkoutsidthebox: Thank-you for the explaination. That was pretty much my thinking as well. Before posting, I had tried several ways to create the interior cavity. One way involved having two seperate meshes: an interior and exterior. The other involved the interior mesh and the exterior mesh being c...

This is a real sticky subject and I apologize in advance for my soapbox. This year I have entered into my tenth year of continuted litigation, defending myself against big corporation. Right now I am waiting yet again on my 3rd appeal to the state supreme court. Over these past ten years, I have bec...
