Re: Flash Ring

It definitely adds another dimension to the CNC and is a lot of fun. The ring looks good, and I am sure it will be the first of many.

Re: Fishy stuff

What a great idea and well executed, I am pretty sure my son in law would swap his tropical fish tank for one of them.

Re: Triangular Bowl

After seeing those dovetails, I can imagine that you were top of the maths class. It looks terrific and I also like the way you added the inlay work.

Re: WYSIWYG

Thanks for the feedback. I have watched a few videos on youtube and they did recommend getting a phone with facial recognition, but I am not ready to upgrade yet. I will wait until mine breaks. Your carvings still came out pretty good. I think our company paid about $40,000 for their scanner so I am...

WYSIWYG

I know there is an expensive 3D scanner at work but trying to get your hands on it is another story so I could not wait any longer to try a full 3D model on the 4th axis. I imported a generic 3D file both STL and OBJ file types, the OBJ file appeared to have a better resolution. I had bought a cheap...

Re: Draw cross-section for tapered leg

I dont know if this will help but I started making a few tapers for walking sticks and used a flat rectangle from clipart greater than my design area, clipped the model to the design area which takes away the rounded edges. Then I used the fade function of the model which will fade up to 100% of Mod...

Advice on 3D components

Hi I am trying to create a bowl using the Clipart supplied with VCarve Desktop. The basic model components were a number of dishes combined smoothed and baked. They leave a rugged edge which is fine as I intended to flat skim the surface or preferably I would like to add an overall dish component th...

Desk Tidy

Desk Tidy 004.jpg I am working from home more on the computer these days so I thought I would make a small desk tidy. It might be a bit OTT but I wanted to try out some different tool paths and also use some of the free models. It was a lot of fun working out how to make it. The wood is American Ma...

Re: The Blue screen of Death

Unfortunately it was the Hard drive that failed but luckily I had my nearly all my project files backed onto a thumb drive and my tool database was saved on the Vectric portal.
