Re: New threading tool path

Quality work, and I really like that slight dome finish to the lids.

Re: Egg Cage

I like the offbeat idea of caging the eggs , it adds an artistic touch.
A nice finish also.

You did a nice job on the box and I think the oak was a good choice.

Re: Got to use the Thread Mill

The lamp project is very cool Todd but it would probably be a bit ambitious of me to tackle that until I get some more practice so I have downloaded the file. Thanks for sharing that project. I am sure it would have taken quite a bit of time to work it out.

Re: Got to use the Thread Mill

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, I think I was stunned when the threaded parts screwed together so well. I was asked today if the threaded wood may become unusable after a period of time which I couldn't answer but I am guessing that if I use seasoned timber like Rock Maple and Walnut then I w...

Got to use the Thread Mill

Ever since the upgrade to version 10.5 I have been very keen to try the single thread mill and I ended up buying one for a 6mm pitch. I wasn't sure if it was the correct choice when it arrived because it looked too small but it turned out fine for a small ring box. Insert is Corian, main body is Roc...

Re: The Maple Ring finish

Thanks Randall I did a bit of searching today and after a few phone calls I found a kitchen place that uses Corian and is willing to sell the off cuts. To be honest I din't know it existed here as I have never seen or heard of any kitchen with a Corian counter top. I am looking forward to making som...

Re: Fireman’s Cross in Avonite

Randall a great work of art.
I have seen a few of your other works with Avonite and they all turned out with a stunning finish.
I am sure we must have something similar here in West Australia under a different name its just a matter of tracking it down.

Re: The Maple Ring finish

Thanks Gary I have seen Randall's work with Avonite and they look fantastic which inspired me to try and source some Avonite here in West Australia with no luck but there must be an alternative so I will keep on looking. I have also heard of people using Corian for rings which I am guessing may be s...

The Maple Ring finish

It may not be a rotary question but then again. I am attempting to make a Rock maple ring on the rotary axis and for the most part it did work and at first glance I thought that it was fine but when I take a picture it looks like it could do with some micro sanding which is probably out of my skill ...

Re: The fun walking Cane

Thanks Todd
The D&M Machinist pack was an unusual set of models I can only guess that they have some Celtic symbol roots maybe.
There are fantastic models in the Design and Make collections and I look forward to using a lot more when I start selling things.

Re: The woodwork Galleries in USA

The CNC and software do create a a powerful addition to woodworking tools in the shed and by no means does it compare to mass production items so I when I do get around to selling things I will be telling people that only part of the item was made using a CNC. The times are changing and I am happy t...
