Re: Welcome to the new and improved Vectric Forum!
Is there a way to change the color scheme just for me in my profile or something? I find the grey on white text difficult to see. Getting older I guess......

Re: 9.5 Disappointment on the upgrade
I skipped the v9 upgrade as didn't see much I needed and decided to wait. The text changes alone in 9.5 were enough to make me upgrade as text is a big part of my work. Want to use the rotary when I get time, but text features were worth the upgrade cost in my case.

Re: Topo map into Vcarve
You are also going to have to take into account the radius of the bit and modify the edge vectors for each state so they can fit together like a puzzle. Look up how to manually create vectors for inlay.

May be a custom graphic and not a font.
The whatthefont smartphone app doesn't find a match. Suggests a few that are similar but nothing with A's anything like that.

Re: My V-Carve has gone crazy
Take a look at the code and make sure whether it's actually asking for these depths. I'd be more suspicious of my control software or losing steps on the machine, but a quick check of the code should tell you whether it's a vcarve or machine problem.

Re: Reversing toolpath
On second reading, it sounds like you are making 10 passes of 1mm each in the same location. You might try a pocket toolpath where your pocket is just slightly larger than your tool, and set pass depth to 1mm

Re: Reversing toolpath
Snap1.jpg If I understand what you are asking, and assuming your are doing a profile 'on' the vector, just connect the vectors beyond the edge of the material. Easiest to do if you reverse the start point of every other vector then join with the 'join with straight line' or 'Join with smooth curve'...

Re: Shopbot Buddy or CAMaster Stinger1??
I have a cammaster stinger and a large PRS shopbot. The shopbot is my goto machine, the stinger used for indexing and secondary projects when shopbot is busy. I started with the shopbots (PR) and may be I'm just more comfortable with it, but support and rigidity wise, I'd go with shopbot. I do like ...
