Re: Re First Cut Disaster

It is a nice little very quiet motor, chrome body and a top mounted fan. The doc's it came with don't say anything I can understand about
the rpm's. It did not have any kind of printed dial for the knob so I may have to get a tach to find sweet spot rpm's.

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

Must edit my post about my spindle motor. I misspoke myself. It is not variable speed it's just 0 -12,000 rpm. I apologize for the confusion.
I can not meet with you Grandkids birthday BBQ.

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

To be clear, I have a Chinese made 300w spindle motor which came with power supply, potentiometer that plugs into the power supply. It says it has rpm's from 12,000 / 36,000 rpm. In my naiveté I only got one set of screw connection to work with pot, so I am at a total loss as to accessing the full r...

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

That's the information I was looking for. I was not aware that my older version of Vectric had this. I can set it for what I think my machine can handle. This brings up another concern of mine, spindle speed. I have mine wired as a stand alone system, meaning I turn on the power supply and turn up t...

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

My machine is a K2CNC1425 similar to a Velox Machine, fortunately I did not build it myself. It is not the spindle speed I wish to reduce but, the speed of the cutter into the material. I guess it's the feed I want to control, how do I do that? And while we're on this subject,t how do I make my cuts...

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

Well, after seeing the amount of flex, it is obvious, I need to convert the bracket to an Aluminum piece. That said it will take a rebuild of the Z axis parts. The Alum. part is wider so I may have to stretch my mount. It has shipped today so I'm in a holding pattern until it arrives. I had no idea ...

Riks Update

I have been ill, reason for long time between posts. So I found I had interference issues with my Z axis carriage hitting the motor mount. The spindle mounting plate was too long. This caused me to disassemble the Z axis and make changes to the parts. Did this mean I had to re calibrate the Z axis?....

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

Yes they are working very good.
So I guess now it's up to me to tune my motors so they don't lose steps, o.k. I will try and do that, but in the meantime,
I want to thank you very much for your assistance and guidance with my issues. I will report back with my results
as soon as I can.

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

O.K. copied new xml, got the same results as the last one. X and Y still losing steps in positive direction. The X and Y axis stop and the motor keeps going, then when it changes direction in X and Y it regains movement. I am thinking that the speed at which the acceleration is set, or maybe the mic...

Re: Re First Cut Disaster

Sorry for the delay, Grandkids came to use the pool. I did exactly as you instructed, the results were ; I ran the circle test file. All axis moved in there proper direction, but the X and Y are jerky and stall, lose steps(I can see the DRO moving although the axis is not) and X and Y seem to run fas...

Upload a txt file

Why do I get an error message that says it may be an attack vector when I try to upload a txt file?
Does it matter if I did a save as from an xml file. Having trouble uploading txt files to indicate Mach 3 configurations.
