Re: MAC Use

...because they are progammed in lua That's an interesting point... It's quite possible that you could install the LuaForWindows library in the bottle and get them running. The trick to a lot of CrossOver installs is adding the appropriate libraries that are needed by the Windows app, but it's tric...

Re: MAC Use

I used CrossOver to run VCarve Pro for several years on a MacBook Pro 15" i7 and a newer MacBook Pro 16" i9, and I'm the author for several of the tips in the Crossover compatibility database. Most gadgets do not work correctly in Crossover (and usually crash VCarve), but the VCarve Pro app itself w...

Re: Toolpath order options

Rcnewcomb , An email to support@vectric.com would ensure that this gets logged into their support database. Yes, I shared my gripe and comments that way too. Thanks. I am offering my time and effort to help work through the logic and fringe cases if that's at all helpful. I wouldn't be so adamant i...

Toolpath order options

When are you guys/gals going to replace your random() function for each of the toolpath order options with actual code? The only option that seems to work correctly is the vector selection order option. I have created a grid of rectangular parts using your array copy feature, so the X-Y positions we...

Re: MAC Use

I have used Crossover, and I'm responsible for some of the tech notes about VCarve in the CodeWeavers database. Most of VCarve runs fine, but you will have problems with the 3D view used for tool path previews and problems using most any gadget. I have switched to using Parallels because I was not a...

Re: Add ability to click-drag a line for multiple tab placement

Us inexperienced/ignorant users will take your experienced recommendations to heart I hoping that my comment was interpreted that I could be the stupid user here :) I'm hoping that I haven't missed something, like a modifier key or some option that I didn't read about to do what I'm suggesting. Dev...

Re: Add ability to click-drag a line for multiple tab placement

Absolutely! I will do that shortly with this idea. As a developer myself, users regularly suggest things that are already implemented or that fall into the inexperienced/ignorant user category, so these discussions really help flush out ideas before submittal. I find it really nice to receive feedba...

Re: How to Pocket using Offset from outside inward ?

To prevent tear-out when I cut pockets in solid wood, I cut a full tool width profile path inside the shape then follow it up with a second pocket path with an allowance set so that it doesn't touch the edges of my first profile cut. I never get any kind of "tear-up" within the pocket at the bottom ...

Re: Add ability to click-drag a line for multiple tab placement

I hadn't considered guide lines to aid placement because many of my jobs are "odd" and either don't have a rectilinear layout or have neighboring edges at angles, but that's a great suggestion for cases where horizontal and/or vertical alignments occur... Thanks :) I think they're leaving out a usef...

Re: Option for warning for vectors without associated toolpaths

On the Lighter Side --- Should never be in a Rush --- Planning is Key! I'd love for this project to be like that :) I didn't get this lucky this time... I have a delivery on Tue and the mistake means a panel is holding up some subsequent assembly, so extra time this weekend is needed to repair the ...

Re: Option for warning for vectors without associated toolpaths

Agreed, but my issue is not that I can't find them, because like you mention, there are various methods to see the un-toolpathed vectors. My issue is that if I have a day where I have to run a dozen full sheets of parts and I'm rushing to get things done, it's really easy to miss something, and the ...

Re: Option for warning for vectors without associated toolpaths

Do you manually select those many vectors for the toolpaths? If so, it might be time read up on layers and the "Selector..." button in the "Vector selection:" portion of the toolpath dialog. I do... Our problem is that routing order is critical for much of our work because parts can shift when not ...

Add ability to click-drag a line for multiple tab placement

Could you add a feature within "Edit tabs" that give the user the ability click-and-drag a dynamic line that crosses vectors, and tabs are added where the line crosses the vectors? I do a lot of 2.5D routing with nested parts on a sheet held down by vacuum, and it is extremely common to add tabs bet...

Option for warning for vectors without associated toolpaths

Please, please, please add an option to produce a warning when you save toolpaths that warns of vectors within the job setup that do not have associated toolpaths. I run a lot of 2.5D paths that have many nested shapes within the job setup, and it is not uncommon to have ungrouped shapes with holes ...
