Re: 2021 User Group Meeting - San Diego

I considered signing up for my first in-person users group but felt it was still too early to hold it because of the ongoing Covid issue. Call me what you want but I've always been a glass half empty person. Expect the worst and you're never disappointed. Some day maybe I'll get to meet yo...

Re: Todd's Wonky Centerline Shoehorn

"Proper one?" Are you KIDDING ME? ANYBODY can make a symmetric model - it takes joi de vivre, artistic genius, poetic license and a certain, "it is my art, if you don't understand this is not my problem" attitude to create such a piece! Call Christies Auction house and tell them it's a famous lost ...

Todd's Wonky Centerline Shoehorn

Decided to make Todd's Wonkey Zero plane Shoehorn from Peter Parfitt"s challenge. To be somewhat different I laminated Walnut and Maple strips. The intent was to have the maple run down the center with walnut and maple on either side. So much for my intentions. When the cut started I remembered the ...

Another Birdhouse

Seems I'm on a birdhouse kick recently and this is my latest project. Not having a 4th axis I had to cut double sided segments to construct this round one. Copper roof (Paint) and metallic base (also paint) it's made from big box 3/4" pine smooth inside and textured bark on the exterior. Assembled.j...

Kountry Kabin (Or Michael made me do it)

I had seen a model called Hunter Cabin that Michael T had made previously. Unfortunately it was on a different platform not compatible with Aspire. Michael said “You have all the tools in Aspire to model one yourself ”. Yes, I had all the tools in my toolbox but not necessarily the skill set to use ...

Re: Poor Painter - Resin filled on texture surface

Well if that is lousy painting I have no idea how you would describe mine   I agree with Martin. Nice work Painting is definitely not my strong side that’s why most of my projects are cut from hardwood so I don’t have to paint. I have a project that has been sitting for days waiting for...

Re: Tear out

I'll be interested in your solution as I have an upcoming project in which I will have the same bevel cuts as do you. I thought I'd use my table saw to cut the bevels but would rather do all my cuts (more than just bevel cuts) on the CNC. Don't know what your jig setup looks like however, I would th...

Re: Restart job

+1 to what others have said. I too have the ability to restart at my last position or any where else in the file. I don’t normally do that with one exception. On long two sided cuts I will cut one side, shut down with X & Y zeroed then begin the next day with the opposite side cut. Then when I power...

Re: drag bit question

What type of acrylic are you using. Cast is the preferred acrylic material. Gives good clean lines as opposed to some of the other “Softer” grades
