I also am interested in what these will do.
Found the site and did a couple of downloads.

Re: Lounge Sign

Could you give the source for the walleye file please?
I have a friend who runs a very small charter operation from a small town in Indiana to Lake Michigan and would like to make a personalized sign for him.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone doing epoxy inlays successfully?

Someone in this group must be doing epoxy inlays successfully. I have done searches but can't seem to find that person. IF epoxy could be substituted for another material would you use it or is epoxy a "must have" for your projects? IF you want to try another filler material for any cavity, like fe...

Re: Foreground vs Background Milling

Thanks for the VidClip Becky. I downloaded it and will go through that this evening. I did accidentally run across a similar Vectric Help video yesterday when looking for something entirely different and sat and watch that. That also helped - The Yoyo just didn't entirely make sense to me until I wa...

Re: Anyone doing epoxy inlays successfully?

I used to do a lot of epoxy work at a big Corp. and there is one general rule. It is an absolute MUST to use the Mix Ratios on the labeling along with verifying and using the cure times and temperatures. Some common epoxies have a 1:1 ratio either by weight or volume so you must use the label method...

Re: franctions to decimal

There are charts on the Internet with "Fractions, Decimals, MMeters" in 3 columns on a single chart. I find these helpful while hunting for bits on sites where MM are the units. Just have one printed for my office and one for the shop is a great time-saver.

Ah! Brings back memories of using those old Sears catalog pages in the out-house when I was a kid! OUCH!

Re: Glazing your 3D Carving - A Step by Step Guide

WOW! Your wolf all but jumped off the plate! Nice job! And thank you for the PDF file. I was bumbling around a Menards store some time back and was looking for something in the way of paint that looked metallic without the shine for spraying an Indian Head/Buffalo nickel and wound up talking to an o...

Foreground vs Background Milling

I remember seeing the Vectrician YoYo file where gears were laid behind another gear. The gear in the background seemed to be grayed out. But from the results in the finished YoYo this seemed to mill properly. SO, I wanted to make a plaque with a fish on it with a few seaweed in the background and h...

Re: Anyone doing epoxy inlays successfully?

IF you don't absolutely have to use Epoxy and can live with limited colors DAP makes wood filler products that can be used to look like an inlay. These are also paintable and stainable. A friend just did a sample which I thought was a wood inlay from the looks of it. And it was sanded smooth and had...

Re: What's the best external finish for wood?

IF you're doing signs and they are only on one side - make sure to also finish the back side even if blank.
IF you do not do this your sign will very likely warp.

Re: Aspire 9 How to change a point to a smooth point?

BEST PRACTICE: Check ALL file with high magnification BEFORE you use the file, whether it is free, a paid item, or something you built yourself. Handles sometimes get twisted around and form a loop, which will drive your system to do things you do not want it to do. I did this for a friend on a file...

Re: Anyone doing epoxy inlays successfully?

IF you're going to try the 5 minute epoxy you probably should count on it starting to set in 3 minutes. AND, unless you're buying the 5 minute epoxy already colored you're probably going to be out of luck. IF you find a two-part 5 minute epoxy you're still going to lose a couple of minutes making su...

Re: simple bird house design , sized to fit all

Make sure to check for the hole size before cutting/drilling the hole. Specify WHICH type of bird you want to attract to the house, then go on-line and find a listing of bird type and the hole sizes they prefer. Too big and you get different types of robber birds. Really large houses with correspond...

Re: U.S. Flag - Free

Thanks for the flowing flag design.
It is greatly appreciated and will be used.
All of the designs I've noted were either strictly rectangles or had something on top of the flag.
