Re: Flipping Toolpaths

I usually copy the tool path, copy the vectors to a new layer, select all or the ones I want, shift H or shift V, recalculate copied tool path.

Vectric also does not model or cut any undercuts.

Re: Aspire and Mach4

MACH 3 has been fine for me I have different kind of machines running it, my suggestion is to run an ethernet controller instead of a USB or parallel port. Speeds things up and runs smoother. Most problems with MACH 3 were window settings.

Re: Angled Z axis cut

You can use a tapered bit that is close to the angle you want and just make that pocket edge.

Re: Problem with Mach3

Are you running a smooth stepper or something similar? If running a USB the problem like that is with windows, it is a way that windows refreshes the USB. The ethernet version runs much smoother and no refresh of memory issues. You might also turn off all windows update, and power saving that window...

Re: Stubborn Vectors and nodes! HELP!

With the program that you used, try exporting or saving the AI as an EPS instead of a dxf or dwg. Then import to Vectric.

Re: New spindle but inverter question

Everything should work fine, the 4 kw will just set the maximum amp draw to 4KW, which would make your spindle 4 KW instead of 4.5 KW.

Re: Smoothing a textured surface

My Next Engine did me a fine job for about 2 years, it has been on the shelf boxed up for the past year. This thread reminds me that I will probably not use it again, I have kept it for a spare. If someone wants to buy it send me a private email, it has all of the extra software tools with it, CAD T...

Re: Customized Parts

When you use a lot of layers, you can accidentally be on the wrong layer and make a change and lose some data or make a change yo do not want. I would make a folder for these, then make the changeable side, save it, change the file to read only in properties, make a shortcut to the desktop for that ...

Re: Rifle Stock on a Rotary Axis.

Aspire will not cut past the center line of the object, this will make your design very difficult to machine in a rotational manner.

Re: Vectric for plasma toolpaths

I use Aspire to draw up the item, but I use another program for the tool path.
Aspire does not do the THC, auto reverse interior cuts, or auto cut parts to allow for expansion,
and other things.

Re: Dear Michael Tyler

You cannot usually convert immediately. Import the job in inches, and choose OK.

Go back to "set job and dimensions", and change to MM.

It has to do with the way memory in Windows saves the immediate data.
