Relative measurements
I’m disappointed that I don’t know how to do this yet. I want to be able to place a vector a particular distance from another vector. For simplicity sake here’s an example: One box 2“ x 2“ 1 1/2 inches away from another box that is 2“ x 2“. I need to determine how to do the 1 1/2” between the two bo...

Re: Tiled toopath won't save - FYI
I sent the following to Support. It has a little bit more detail than my original post. Dear Support, I experienced a very frustrating error using Tiled toolpaths. If you change the material dimensions you have to "Delete all tiling data" and set it again or your tiles will not be the correct dimens...

Tiled toopath won't save - FYI
Just a FYI for those using Tiled toolpaths. If you change the material dimensions you have to "Delete all tiling data" or your tiles will not be the correct dimensions. It appears that tiling data is not adjusted for changes to material dimensions. Ex: I had a board that is 32" Y and 10" X. I change...

Re: tiling Manager
Thanks for your response. That did not change. I really has me stumped. One of the things I left out of the original post: The 20" in the incorrect version of my drawing was at the bottom and the 12 inches were at the top. That will be reversed with the changes I made if and when I can get the tilin...

tiling Manager
I am at my wits end. I made a mistake on a project and had to flip part of the vectors to the other side of the board. I had stuff on the left and it needed to be on the right. Because I use a 12x by 24y machine it requires me to rotated material and all my vectors 90 degrees. No problem. Before I d...

Re: Fonts (Typesets) suggestions
Depends a lot on how small the text is. From the problems you're experiencing I would guess it's very small? Have you tried using the single line fonts with a profile toolpath set to be On the vector with a v-bit? That's what I use for very small text and there are script variants in there. You can...

Fonts (Typesets) suggestions
This may have been asked a million times, so for you experts please forgive me. I struggle with selecting fonts with almost every project. In particular script style fonts. I have a bunch and I think I need to delete about 3/4 of them. My issues are with v carving with a 60° v bit. Often the vectors...

Ruler?
This is going to show my ignorance... Is there a feature in VCarve Pro that will allow me to position vectors around on my material and display the distance between the material edges or relative to one another? Example I want to do a pocket cut 1/2" from the right edge and 1" from another vector. T...

Re: Is it me or a setting... tap file names
Check what you have the settings at the top of the Save Toolpath form set to. If you have it set to "Visible Toolpaths to Multiple Files" then it will (as it should) give you names like that. You probably had it set to "Visible Toolpaths to One File" before. You are a genius. I could not find it do...

Is it me or a setting... tap file names
Recently, I cannot remember exactly when, but my tap files are getting odd names when I save them. Perhaps it is because I am running VCP via VMware Fusion on a Mac and something there is causing it. I save "bathwine.tap" and when I check the folder it is "Bathwine_1-Bathwine.tap". This occurs with ...

Re: Box Creator - How to use... one error
Thank you. Do you have tips on the joint width for dovetail? I tried making a box 12w x 10d x 4h. 1.25 joint width resulted in "joint width too small" message. 1.26 "joint width to large". I tried a box 12w x 10d x 12h - "selected tool will not fit between joints". .125 end mill was the tool. Thank ...

Box Creator - How to use... one error
The Box Creator is giving me a few challenges that are a bit more frustrating than I want to figure out. First, I don't think I really know how to use it. Let me clarify, I know what numbers, except the best allowance, to enter. I select the type of joint. Press okay and I am shown the drawing and t...

Re: Gear Gadget fails to install
There are also issues with downloading V10 gadgets with older versions of Internet Explorer. It treats the files as zip files rather than vgadget files so the automatic installer won't recognise them. Best to use an up to date browser if that is the case. Thank you so much for the info above... I w...
