Re: Boss Routers Single Phase w/ 8 ATC

I'm in the middle of changing one out to a Centroid controller. The one in my shop had mach3 on it and it's a 2018. If you need a spare controller, I can hook you up. lol Did you get it homed and measure all tools? Try a normal non atc mach post first and see how that goes. If it doesn't call for a ...

Re: Easy Cabinet Maker

Jim, on the corner units, the left and right sides are the same as normal base and upper. Just the center pieces and backs are different. There is a left back and a right back instead of just a single back. Some guys prefer a back corner clipped off, as many inside corners of a house are not square....

Trying to get quotes in a line.

I am trying to get the vectric post to produce what my Centroid machine will understand. Here is the Vectric line in my post processor currently. " M225 #)Please Insert T[T] [Toolname]\nPress Cycle Start to continue" It gives me this result. M225 #)Please Insert T1 End Mill (1/4")\nPress Cycle Start...

Re: VFD Error Codes

Changing the accel/decel settings helps at times. If it gets up to speed fast, or slows down to fast, it can give those errors. What is the time setting in parameters for accel and decel?

Re: Unsure why part is not being cut correctly

Try rotating the part in your design 90 degrees, recalculate, and see how it cuts. If it is a machine issue, this should show you.

Re: vacuum tables

It depends on what you mostly cut. For flat sheet goods, it's wonderful. If you cut odd size non sheet good stuff, it doesn't do a well. Mdf is fine for me, but many use phenolic, aluminum, and other waterproof options. I have done vacuum boxes with built in mufflers that help a LOT with the noise. ...

Re: Installing controller, Laguna IQ

I would rewire it to a different controller, but if you got 5 years out of it, maybe you will get 5 years out of another rich controller?

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

Glad you got it working. Most machines use M3 to start spindle fwd, and M5 cuts it off.

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

If you just use a jumper wire to test and can make the drive go on and off by touching the fwd to com (may be different terminals on yours) and it stos when you remove the jumper wire, then a relay will work as far as the vfd is concerned. If you comand spindle on and off with the wires unhooked fro...

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

That relay will not work. If you get one rated for the same input and 0-60v output (common size) it will work. The output will only work one direction, so you may have to flip the wires if they don't work at first. Basically you just touch those two wires together in the vfd to make it run.

Re: Ghost in the machine?

You could try to raster the other direction to see if any kind of problem follows that. It's to even for loosing steps so that seems out. Those files run back and forth like a typewriter, so it almost seems like software. Other wise it would be every other direction. I guess you have tried the previ...

Re: Vision 2550 V4 Controller

I had a computer "guru" do what he called ghosting on a hard drive I thought was toast. With a replacement ghosted hard drive, I was up and running again. It may be worth asking a local PC shop to give it a try.
