Re: different Feeds and speeds for same tool number on different toolpath

I think if you "merge" same tool toolpaths, and "edit" feed and speed within individual parts of the merge it will do what you want.

Re: Question about roundover bit

I think the fly in the ointment will be the plunge. All that I've had apart had a threaded boss that would do nothing to cut in the Z movement. Perhaps if one could sweep into a cut it would work, but straight plunge would almost certainly be problematic. Not sure what your intended profile is, but ...

What machine am I looking for?

Hi all. I'd like to cut roll masking film stencils on a printer like machine but really don't know where to start. I'm looking for some guidance. I think I know this can be accomplished on router with drag knife, but don't wish to tie up machine and change setup. Maybe that's silly. Former son in la...

Can you include a "DWIT" (Do What I'm Thinking) button?

Re: 10.5 is COMING SOON - Watch this space

From what I gather via the video, this will make a CNC router go round and round, yeah?

Re: array copy toolpath tool change question

Duster, you surely have Mopar in your blood, yeah? I do something similar but not with cabinet parts specifically. I place the parts to the side of my defined work area, usually 49x97, and then pull copies of parts I need to cut into work area. As Mike suggested, I have differing layers depending on...

Re: not cutting through .2 in plywood

I'm far from knowing a lot, but I threw myself a curveball once upon a time by trying to cut beyond the physical travel of machine in Z axis.

Re: Pocketing, why the up-down?

OK John, here's a Google Drive link to stripped down file with another component that does the same with unexpected Z movement. I saved this as a CRV file which I've never done since getting Aspire. My thought is it might make it more accessible as there are no 3D elements. https://drive.google.com/...

Re: Pocketing, why the up-down?

Yes, but it might take me a bit to get back to this project...many on my list today.

I thought there might be a pat answer. I cut rabbets like this on a product I sell and it behaves the same. Gets the job done, but with what seems like extraneous motion.

I'll be back...

Pocketing, why the up-down?

I'm pocketing out what will become rabbets and dados all at same depth. .75 material,.375 depth with .375 upcut EM. Blue lines represent pocket and red the actual perimeter of part post cutout, a outside profile cut at full depth, less onion skin. Given the nature of the task, I would have thought t...

Thanks for confirming Leo. If using a twist bit, would it still be prudent to peck drill?

3/32" Pilot Holes 3/4" Deep

I've been successfully peck drilling 1/8" holes .75 deep in 3/4" MDF using this 1/8" end mill: https://www.toolstoday.com/v-14248-51766.html Now I need to do same with 3/32". I haven't found a similar end mill that will go this deep. Can I just chuck up a twist drill in in 3/32" collet and turn spin...

Really handsome work. Google tells me Celoisa a flowering plant...didn't know that.

I imagine these will be indirectly lit from interior? Would love to see "after" shots, if possible.

Re: Vcarve Pro Travel speeds/Rpms trouble

Kevin, it seems we have almost identical machines with exception of the spindle, I opted for the larger one. I can't speak to the Moziak software as I haven't used it, but the only cutter I've broken using Vectric software was result of me forgetting to turn breaker on and it drove my non-spinning 3...

Re: Using Marine Grade Plywood

I can guess at the results, but it's unclear what material you're actually going to use. Marine plywood is typically a better grade of fir plywood with exterior glue. Thought by many to be waterproof, but not really true. It should cut fine but edges will have a little tear out and checking as is ty...
