Vectric Customer

I've seen a few references on here regarding Plasma CNC's. Do they just run on gcode, like VCarve exports? Are there any particular brands or models for a home / hobby kind of a guy? If anyone has experience with a CrossFire, that's the one that's sort of in my wheelhouse.
